There are a lot of scammers like this. This idiot appears to be affiliated with CRA aka CR Associates - if you are in Cali and you are reading this you probably at one point received a call from 916-361-9573.

Just avoid and maybe consider freezing your credit report. They pose as a company you seeked credit from and get a copy of your credit report, pick up a debt you have or had and claim it as their. LULZ.

As in any situation like this, file a complaint with your attorney general office

Might the full name be Consumer Recovery Associates? Any debt collectors making lawsuit threats or behaving in a deceptive manner should be met with more than complaints to regulators. They beg to be spanked by a judge or arbitrator and pay out fines to their victims.

Yes sir - Consumer Recovery Associates. If you spend some time researching them you will find  a verryyyy comprehensive list of company names they have used over the past several years. Its ridiculous.

They dont call me anymore (long story short -after i called them 50-60 times in a three day period, they allegedly called the police on me and teleconferenced me to a police officer) LULZ!

I asked the "police officer" for her name, phone number and badge number. More LULZ! They gave me some [***] that didnt check out. After few more phone calls i gave up on them.

Until few days ago - apparently now this guy Matt has my phone number. Same story - ohh we are filing a lawsuit against you....blah blah blahh. After i cursed at him for 2 min, he says that he has a picture of me and that I am ugly and fat.LOL

Any real debt collector will just hang up on you after 10 sec of profanities. Trust me!

But yeahh, i agree with you - you always report them. Justice might be slow, but eventually catches up to everyone. Those people will not be excluded
