- Mia| 1 replyOn 11/06/2014I revived a call from this number 1-951-797-9890, the person who left a message had a (India) Indian accent message left" this is an important message please call me back it's pertaining a legal matter a law suit don't ignore this message you must call me". When I called I had a Filipino guy answering the phone who said his name is "Lee" he tryed to get information from me to pronounce my name, I can hear other people in the back ground talking.. I told him that his a scam and stop calling my number and that I'll report him to the police which I did! He then got rude with me on the phone with an FN attitude! and I just hanged up the phone.. Just about 15 minute ago I received another call from the same number 11/7/2014, same Asian guy calling I just hung up! I'm going to put a trace on this call and also turned these people in to KOMO 4 news to expose them on air! Please do not answer any calls from this number! Good Luck!

- MiaIt's a scam!
- Tammy replies to MiaI just got a call from 951-797-9890 from David Miller with Indian accent. He called at my parents house which I haven't lived there for 8 years. So I called the number back and the guy asked for my last name as well. I got freaked out at first he said I'll be arrested for unpaid tax from 2009 which is bull [***] because i do my tax every year with HR Block. Thank you so much for your post. Now i know for sure it's a scam!!!
- AdrianI got a call from the same number on 11/14/14 claiming that it was the US Treasure Legal Affairs. The guy barely spoke English and was rude and had no customer service skills. I called back and he answered the call asking me to check the number online and see it is a legit number. I asked for his supervisor and he said he is the supervisor!!!! Definitely a scam.
- SueI received a call from this number on November 14, 2014. The man, with a strong Indian accent, said his name was Jeff Pulmis and told me he was with the Dept of Legal Affairs @ US Treasury. He was very hostile. He told me I was in big legal trouble and asked if I had a lawyer. I hung up, knowing it had to be a scam. He called over and over (5-6 times). I didn't answer. I told my husband. He answered the phone speaking German and the Indian man was yelling at him. My husband said "goodbye" in German and hung up, Then the man called again. He left a message on my machine. He was angry and hostile and said he was sending the police to my house because I dared to hang up on him. He said my address and said I would be behind bars within an hour. Even though I knew it was a scam it was very upsetting. I called the local police and they referred me to the FBI website, to report it. It is a federal offense to impersonate a federal agent. I hope someone will do something about these horrible scammers before they scare some poor person into giving them money. They are VERY aggressive!

- Dan| 1 replyReceived a called with an idiot claiming his name was David Miller (very thick accent).. barely understood what he was saying.
He or she did say they were from the US Treasury dept (legal affairs) and to call back immediately to take care of the legal issue pertaining to me. He/She ended the call with a "God bless you".....weird crap from these individuals. This is actually the second called we've gotten in the last month. The first call came in early in the morning around 6am and I answered the phone.
This time it was a lady with a very thick accent and she asked for my wife but she kept saying "he" my wife's name is in a lot of trouble and needs to pay a fine by calling us back right away. I asked her to verify my wife's SS# and she got very upset at me and said for me not to be playing any games with her or she would have me arrested. I told her to go ahead and arrest me and also told her that I would not help her find anybody and that she can go the hell. She got very angry at me and she was mumbling some crappy words that I did not understood. Definitely a scam and people should be aware of these scam calls.
Do "NOT" give any information to these individuals. I any government agency is looking from any US citizen's, they would most likely try contacting by mail.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number. - Beverly G.I received a call today from this number. Left a message with my Mom whom is house sitting. I returned the call asking to speak to "Jordan Smith" as that is the name given to my Mom. I was asked if I meant Jeffery Smith and I repeated no Jordan. "David Miller" with a think Indian accent told me that Jordan was his assistant and that he wanted my lawyers information. I asked by I need a lawyer. He said he was on a recorded line and that I was not to interupt him. He told me I had 3 accounts against me and that I would be going to jail. I wanted to know why this was the first time I was hearing about this and he said that they sent an agent to my house 3 times about 3 or 4 months ago. When I asked for him to send me a copy of the affidavit that he was reading he said that was not how the judical system worked and that I would be spending the next 6 months in jail and then I would get all the proof in court. I repeated that I needed to know what the charges were against me were and didn't understand why I wasn't contacted prior to this and he said that all tax information was provided in person as it was private and confidental. He kept getting louder and louder. I told him that I was handing up now and he told me I couldn't and if I did the police would be coming to pick me up. I responded that it seemed they would be coming for me if I hung up or not. And I hung up.
- Lyndathis man called me telling me he was from the treasury department, that I needed to return his call, get an attorney ASAP or the situation may get worse.
- Caller: treasury department
- AnissaThank heavens I looked up this phone number. Everyone seems to have the same story here but it made me feel better. I have never had legal issues but they do pull a bullying act that makes normal rational people doubt themselves. This man asked for my husband but slaughtered his name so I told him he had the wrong number and hung up. He called immediately back (not sure why I answered) and demanded to know why I had hung up and was I willing to ignore this call and the legal consequences that would follow. He gave me this number (also the number he called with) and told me to have my husband call and ask for "Officer" Michael Lee with the Department of Legal Affairs, US Treasury. When I asked what this was in regards to he said he did not have details other than legal action had been started against us and it was imperative that we call this number back immediately for the information. I agree with the above comments - any legitimate government agency would have made several attempts to make contact including certified letters before beginning any sort of legal process.
- Miss M| 1 replyI am so glad I also looked this number up online before calling them back. Glad to know I am not alone. They left a message on my answering machine and it was an Indian guy almost yelling about how I needed to call them back and to have an attorney present during are call. He claimed to be from legal affairs. I had a hard time understanding him because of his acsent and the loudness of his voice. He sounded so frightening on the message, that my son came out of his room and asked what all the yelling was about. I hope they catch these guys! I'm going to call my local news and tell everyone I know about these Scammers and their number.

- Jamison HatsmithblamperYeah...what a toker.
Couldn't even understand English. I asked him what state he was calling from.
Then, I asked what state area code 951 is from.. He said that's 951. Didn't have a clue what
my question was. I said, where is 951 from...anyway, after about 3 tries, I realized he was
an absolute imbecile. So, then the Micheal Lee name....oh, okay, we're going to believe a
boy with an accent, trying to sound authoritative, and can't understand plain English,
who then gives a Lee name...well, that's really clever. Brilliant...- Caller: 951-797-9890

- Rhonda| 1 replyI had a similar call from "Jeff Miller" also with a heavy accent asking for my daughter....who hasn't lived here in 10 years. Said that he was from the Department of Legal Affairs and she needed to call him back immediately about a legal emergency. I hung up on him. He called back. Again stressing this was a legal emergency and that authorities were already being dispatched to my address. I told him I thought this was a scam and hung up on him again after assuring him that I would have my daughter call him. So glad I looked up this number!

- jamieI'm glad I goggled this number before calling back. This is a scam. Caller had a heavy India accent. Don't call back. I'm seeing how to block the number. In any case these people need to be put in jail.
- Mr GSame as above today, Indian guy, reading off i had 3 counts and I was going to jail. Police were coming today to pick me up. Asked why they never sent letters, he just started to get hostile and said that was end of conversation.
- Patricia replies to RhondaSame thing happened to me. People beware!
- K. GaultGlad I saw these reports. I have not called back, but now have two messages on my answering machine. Used name "David Miller" and the part about being from the Department of Legal Affairs and how I needed to get in touch with a lawyer. How do people get away with this?

All I have to say to Mr. Steve Martin...hope an elephant steps on you!
