Got a call said was Robin Brown from state attorneys office. Keeps repeating same threat that i need to call the number back to talk to the attorney who's last name is Marshall. Said he was calling from California, but couldn't give the city in California. Second day in a row that he has called me and the last message he left was that he was sending the police in to tell my supervisor about me and arrest me.

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

i got a call oon my phone and at work !   this is a scam !!  when i tried to call back they hung up then i called again  ( how does it feel to be harrased ?)  but they wouldnt even answer the phone !

they called me and said the same thing. that i had a criminal case and police would be at my door. i called the police on these guys last year. its from filling out online loan forms.

I just received a call from that number and I didn't answer the strange number. However, the man who left me a message had a strong Indian accent and said his name was Mike Brown. He proceeded to say that my name and my Social Security Number was under state and federal investigation. He also said that if me or my lawyer didn't call back that he wished me good luck. So I'm like WTF and decided to Google it. I'm glad I did.

I just got a call as well.  But he said his name was Erik brown and he was from Anderson Law group.  Same threat and I had just filled out loan forms online.  That sucks!

Same thing for me in the last two days also my bank account has had two fraudulant withdrawls yesterday I have learned my lesson with regards to the internet and personal information I feel like such an idiot

I keep getting calls from this number, leaving 2 minute voice mails. The person that is calling me is named "Stuart." He speaks very poor English. I can barely understand anything besides a few key words. He says to have my attorney contact him and it is a time sensitive matter and I will be sorry if I don't call them back. I am sure it as a scam but it got me scared at first.

I saw I had a missed call and a message that I just listened to from this number and it really scared me. I am so glad I googled to see that multiple other people have received the same call. I just tried calling the number back and it goes straight to leaving a message. I definitely left them a "nice" message. I could barely understand the guy on the message. I am not sure what my next step to making these calls stop. Any advice?

yeah this jerk keeps calling me too saying hes from the.state attys Office amd that three lawsuits have been filed against my name and ss number ans that if i don't an atty call him today "God have mercy on me with this matter"... i hit him with, if you were from state attys office we wouldn't be having such a language barrier and he would know that calling me at 720 am is harassment and to call someone else with this scam

this guy call me too last night and wasnt able to answer the call.so i call bck few minutes earlier and man answer the phone and says he is a federal agent and certain cash loan company file a case for me and get arrested because the company found out that my identity is not true.i was so scared that i check my bank account if theres a transfer from any loan company and theres no transaction .i google the number and discover that this is a scam and want to take money from poor innocent people.i should say people should stop applying online for any cash loan with all this company because they are selling our identity to this animals....

Received a call this morning from this same man - wow - they can really put the fear in you.   Could not understand a word he said except have your attorney call and if I didnt - well just good luck to me.  Somebody tell me what to do please.  Thanks

I have been recieving calls from this number for a week and would not answer it....This morning at 7:20 am a call comes in and I was expecting my son to call so automatically picked it up.  It was an indian guy by the name of David Foster threatening me with the police coming to my place of work and getting the legal documents from me and speaking to my manager.  Then I get to work and there is yet another message.  I am glad I googled the number.  I was scared to death there for a couple of hours.  I tried calling the number back and it picks up and there is nothing there.  I to had recently filled out loan applications on line.  I now know better!!!!

I received a call from this number.   I do not answer calls that I can not identify.  A Mike Drum left a message on my phone.  He talked with a strange accent and talked very slowly and deliberately.  He said my name and ss number had come to his attention and that I should call him back or have my attorney call him.  I had applied for a cash loan on line.  I am glad I gooled it.  I understand it is a scam from India.

I have also had some fraud entries on my bank account.  I had to close that account and open a new one.  My bank phoned me to alert me to the fraud.
