Why? I received an email from someone listing this phone number regarding a craigslist item. Should I be suspicious? Thanks!

It's a scammer telling you that they've overpaid for an item via money order/certified mail.  They ask you to cash the check and send the "over paid" amount to them via western union.  Your bank will realize it's a fake a few weeks later and you will be responsible for the money.

i got the same response about wanting to purchase an item from craiglist that i posted. my fiance did some research aand she found out it was scammed good thing she found out or else i would have lost money.

Beware of this scammer.  Active on Craigslist as of 3 August 08.  This scammer has used the following aliases for name and email... Kelly Rowland, k_rowland30@fresnomail.com, k_rowland07@fresnomail.com, gbolike103@gmail.com, and so on...  Its a scam, stay away!

i got the same email on craigslist
the guy or chick is deaf and cannot communicate.but they are sending a check
for over the amount .heheheheh the piece doesnt go anywhere till the money clears

Got the following email response from Rowland:
Thank for the prompt response to my mail,my secretary will be processing
and mail a draft to cover the cost of my purchase as am completely
satisfied with the advert.I will need the details of whom & where to
mail the draft.It will be delivered by the United Parcel Service
within 2-3 days.Please note 'United Parcel Service' do not deliver to
P.O.Box addresses
1.Name to be on the check
2.Home address
3.Mobile #
Kindly delete the posting as am totally committed to buying from you
to save me cost,my mover will be coming over for the pick up right
only after the payment as been delivered and i want you to understand
that,i love to call but am a deaf and only uses a hearing-in paired
phone the relay so please send me an email you leave a message on my
voice mail 9518927140"it will be delivered as an email to me as
well,thank you.

This was my response back to him:
As much as I'd like to do business with you, I'm not going to be able to. I'm accepting cash only as stated in the advert. Anything short of cash, I would have to get it, and ensure it's good by having it cashed before I'd relinquish the bumper. Since I'm an invalid and have to go through too much trouble to get to the bank, I'll have to stay with my cash only option. Being handicapped, you certainly understand that. Thanks for your interest though. I hope you find what you're looking for.

he did the same thing to me and i sent the money like a dum a'' but caught it in time to get my money back

I had something on Craigslist to see, and this guys is wanting to send me a "draft", I guess means a check, and then have movers pick up the item.  Can that be trusted?

I got the same problem. I'd been had. Anyone want to join me in contacting the fbi. I've talked with them.

I did not call him, however I got the same number in my emails. I got scamed as well.

I just received an email from "Kelly Rowland" also deaf...tee hee. The same phone #. Says his secretary will be sending a draft? His movers will pick up the tires...NOT! What can be done about this person?
