- Caller: United Healthcare
- dana| 3 repliesthey claim they are from united healthcare and that the call back number is 866-827-9833. too many of these fake calls have been coming in to my home and i can'tr figure out who is getting my number. i am on the do not call list and have call block and all that, but they just use a different number to call back the next time that is one number or a couple of numbers off from the original line that called.
- Caller: unknown name
- Robert| 1 replyThe number is for Register Nurses who are conducting a Health & Well Being phone call for UniteHealthcare. For individuals who have chronic conditions they call to discuss your health - I don't know about non-chronic conditions except for recent hospitalizations.
- Caller: UnitedHealthcare
- CmaxPicked up call and it was someone asking for the benifits department. This number is calling me and two of my other friends. When you don't pick up they leave a msg that sound like the breath of satan.
- Cmaxok hambone no need to get worked up, just because satan is coming after you.
- CmaxSo everybody clap your hands.
- punkin432This is ridiculous. We have been getting fax's from this number for 2 days now day and night. How do you get this stopped? We are on the do not call list and yet they have our number.
- maryRegister Nurse call, claims that they want to make sure repeated office visits (for INR blood draw) are needed. She is trying to save United Health Care some money I guess.
- Caller: United Health Care
- Call type: Unwanted
- Frank R| 1 replyAlso got a call continued to ask for them to identify them selves and then they hung up. It figures its an insurance company.
- Limey| 1 replyGot numerous calls from an unpleasant woman to my wife's cell. The number my wife wrote down was wrong, so I searched the last call recieved and found this thread.
It is indeed the United Healthcare Nurse line, and I too have had numerous INR visits, much more than I had previously as my numbers were off and they were changing dosages and rechecking.
It works as a two tier system, there are actual nurses, and then there are telemarketers who do the cold calling. These telemarketers are unpleasant souls as far as I can see. Once you get to a nurse though it is a fairly painless conversation, they go over your medical history (like a nurse reacting to what you are telling them is going to be of more use than the doctor you have been seeing for years) and suggest the phoneline, their free services and make sure you are aware you need to try and visit in-network etc.
My guess is repeated visits for something like INR testing sets off an alarm bell and they figure you are visiting the Drs office too often, so they think you are lonley and need constant comfort, so they push the nurseline on you, 'cause it is cheaper to man that than pay the cost of Drs visits. - J| 1 replyCalled me (patient) about an upcoming procedure, claimed to represent United Healthcare. Asked for my birth day and month (not the year). Asked for my address, I refused and asked what they showed. They had an old address (United HealthCare has my current address). Asked the name of my Dr. that was performing my procedure, I refused, they then told me the name they had (which was the correct name). I asked if this was a new service as this was the first time I had ever recieved a call like this (I have had other work done). She told me that the just started this on Monday (today is Tuesday). Rather suspicious.
I called United Healthcare and they thought this sounded very, very suspicious. They tried calling the number, got a busy signal twice within 3 minutes, the third attempt 2 minutes later resulted in ringing that went unanswered. The person told me that UHC has a nurse line that the customer can call but that they don't perform outgoing calls (from UHC to you, the patient). - LLoydreceived on 3-08. ID showed OPTUM. Googled it and mostly a health care provider. Nothing in the way of scumbag collectors.
- Don't give them your infoWhen they started asking me questions, I repeatly asked them why they are asking me the medical questions. She only replied, "I just need to ask you some medical questions." I kept asking "Why are you doing a survey, asking on a claim, why do you need to know this information." Again she only replied "I just need to ask you some medical questions." This went on about 4 times. They said that they know I do home health care (I didn't even start that yet and if they were UHC they would have known that). I gave them no information and found it very suspious that she wouldn't answer me why she needed this information or why she was calling me. She said she was nurse with UHC.
I called UHC and gave them the number the lady called from and the number they left a message for me to call back. UHC said those are not their phone numbers. UHC also said there is are NO NOTES on my account that UHC has any questions for and they do not have any notes on their account that they need any information from me. I verified with UHC and he informed me that if UHC needed any information from me that their would be a notification on their screen and that UHC had no notification of needing any information from me. He said UHC does have a nurse line but that UHC nurses NO NOT call out to get information from us.
So basicaly this number is NOT for UHC. Do not give them any information. - JO ANN GLICK replies to RobertMy husband misunderstood the call and didn't realize the nurse wanted Jo Ann Glick. She asked for Jo Glick.
- JonathanThe supposed nurse from UHC called me also. She told me it was urgent that I speak with her. I have not returned their call because she sounded rude. She called when UHC knew I was recovering outpatient surgery (on the same day). Since I had to beg, plead and send email and hold on the phone much of last year to get my claims paid per my plan, I am not talking to them. I figured out instantly that it was most likely another attempt to deny benefits. I will be speaking to my corporate benefits director instead. Per the Hippa act federal laws, we all have a right to privacy when it comes to our own medical history. We should not have to give any extra information If it is UHC, the doctors have given them everything they need to process a claim. If is not, it could be medical identity theft. Good luck everyone.
- Caller: They said United Health Care
- Britron replies to Kit| 5 repliesThis number IS United Health care in Minneapolis MN. They have people they monitor with serious illnesses (I am one in Atlanta GA) You are right the number is busy a lot but it is a legitimate company and they call patients. Strange some of the calls some people have had???
- DocThey called me during business hours and claimed to represent United Healthcare Group and were calling on behalf of Engenics(?). This is not UnitedHealthcare. The call was obviously from overseas and they are probably trying to establish some form of previous business relationship surreptitiously so that they can market you to death. They asked for my email and I declined. Do not give them any information
