- AngryDisabledVet| 11 repliesRecieved a call on my cell phone, when I answered it began to ring in the ear piece. Caller stated he was from Brad Street and Assoc. and they were trying to collect a debt. Problem is this debt had been disputed and removed from credit report years ago and he was now saying they were going to take legal action. I told him to go ahead and try. Hope that was not a mistake, but we just have to wait and see.

- JuliaReceived a missed call from a misc. phone number 952-715-6819. I called back and talked to a very RUDE and disrespectful man, by the name of "Mr. Behringer." Right away he said that I had an outstanding debt in the amount of $615.13 from US Bank that was not settled and had been bought by the Debt Collection Agency called "Bradstreet Associates." I told him that a similar account from US Bank had been settled back in 2005-2006 and closed. He kept cutting me off as I tried to explain the situation to him and stated that he was not interested in my story, only interested in if I was going to pay the $615.13 today!
Sounded like a scam and a pretty stupid guy to be calling random people about debt that's already been taken care of years ago. He was very unprofessional. I asked him for his name, firm, call back number, and the account number, in which he spoke too fast. I asked him to slow down and he reacted with a snobby expression of, "If you weren't ready with pen and paper, then why would you ask me? I just told you what it is." What a psycho idiot!
Advice? Call the police and report this maniac man.- Caller: Bradstreet and Associates

- Danielle| 2 repliesI got a call from Justin - he has begun to threaten to call my family and report this debt to them stating that he is going to be taking me to court to get a judgment if I don't call him. He told me to post date a check if I didn't have the funds - which I told him was illegal... he stated that I didn't know anything about law and that he has been doing this for years. I told him that I was unaware of this debt, but that he could send me paperwork so that I could review it - I have still received nothing. He claims this is a debt from US Bank??
I can find no evidence that Brad Street & Associates is a company online. I suggest you all do the following:
1. Contact the Federal Trade Commission and file an online complaint.
2. File a complaint with the Attorney General of MN.
3. File a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. - Memememe| 1 reply"Brad" from Bradstreet and Associates called from a similar number: 952-715-6814 with the whole US Bank debt scam. He was calling my husband's employer constantly and harassing the secretary and the boss himself. My husband was given the message and called. He got the same rude, pushy story and told "Brad" he had to talk to me. I knew it was a scam because the bank account that was open several years ago was closed with no balance. He called "Brad" back and asked for proof of this debt and copies of the letters that we never received. He said he didn't have that information and pushed for a bank card number to take care of the so called debt. He continued to call and I took the phone and was very rude and told I needed to talk like a lady. At that point I didn't care if I talked like a bear. He said he couldn't send me papers, but he could email them to me. I told him he was a scamming liar and not to call back. He called again and again. The number comes up as belonging to Mark Roehring and two different possible business addresses in Minnesota. Today, April 18, he called my husband again from a phone number out of Steven Point, Wisconsin: 715-869-8186. All he got out was, "This is Brad" before my husband told him if he continued calling that he'd put a lawsuit against him. I have a feeling the calls will continue. Little does this "Brad" character know, but we have information that proves there is no debt. I started my own little investigation and when I have, what I think, is the right amount of info, I will turn this company in for scamming/fraud.

- Scammer jammerHey admin - Maybe it's time you get a real job instead of trying to scam good people out of money you have no right to. Learn to spell while you're at it.
Danielle is right on -advise them of the things she noted and don't be afraid to make the calls then- it's the only thing that slows these morons down - until they set up shop under another name in another city. They buy old, outdated debt listings that are long settled and try to intimidate their way into a payment. These guys are scum and should be treated as such.
Perhaps have some fun with them next time they call with some creative "characters" or responses that drag the call on forever (if a land line). The longer the call, the more it costs them.- Caller: Bradstreet

- orig. scammer jammer replies to deleted post| 1 replyDon't believe anything positive you see re: this company on this site cause it would be a lie- the 2nd post to the name scammer jammer has been fraudently input - very nice - no doubt by some bradstreet flunkie trying to legitmize their illegitimate operation. That reaches a new low - disseminating false info under a legit. complaint posting. Get a life....
- Presidents Letter replies to AngryDisabledVet| 6 repliesThis is from the president of BA llc. I am posting this because I find it upsetting that all these posts are being made. This is very disheartening to me. I will post questions and answers that you may be looking for.
Q. Are you a collection agency
A. No, we are a debt buyer that does litigation
Q. What do you do
A. We purchase debts from numerous places including hedge funds, banks, creditors etc.
Q. Could it be a mistake
A. Yes, sometimes we buy debts have already been closed, settled etc. Each debt we buy is backed up with a fully executed purchase agreement, chain of title from the banks.
Q. What happens if it is a true mistake
A. We need to be in contact with you and will work with you to solve the problem. If it is truly a mistake you will have "0" obligation to the debt.
Q. Do you buy over drafted bank accounts
A. Yes, the bank accounts we buy are charged off. Some are from a previous debt buyer and some we are the first people to purchase. We can provide affidavits that are sworn by upper management levels from these banks.
Q. I do not agree with these banks accounts
A. You are still on chex systems and if you look at your contracts, Im sure you will see the $8.00 per day charges along with the $35.00 fees. Im sure we can get to the bottom of everything on a profession level. I can also assure you that its not going to just go away.
Q. What happens if I do not do anything
A. This will eventually end up on your credit report, stay on chex systems, and you may be served with a lawsuit.
Q. If i dispute it, what will happen
A. Every dispute letter is validated by our company with affidavits and verification of debt. This will be sent back to you certified mail. At this point the debt is validated.
Q. I still dispute the debts
A. We will have done everything we can to validate the information. Again, we want to resolve the situation with you. We spend a lot of money and make a living buying and collection these debts. The debts we purchase are provided to us with executed purchase agreements and chains of title. We will order your last 12 months of bank statements showing all your transactions.
Q. What is litigation
A. We file law suits in small claims court for the full balance including court fees. This is only done when we feel this is the only way the debt will be resolved.
Q. Will I be sued
A. Its quite possible. Our lawsuits filed have more than doubled the last two months. We have a fully staffed legal department that determines when to file when your account is referred to their department.
Q. Is this a scam
A. Of course not. This makes me very upset and this is the hardest part to deal with. We will never ask you to pay in cash or wire money to us. We accept visa, master, discover and ACH payments which all have fraud protection. A fraudulent company can not be in business accepting credit cards and checks over the phone especially in our location. Its called the patriot act. We are a registered business in the state on MN. We are a debt buyer that litigates our debts. We purchase these debts in good faith with documents backing up all of our claims. We can provide chains of title that track all the way back to the bank. We will also back anything we say in writing. We work with the Attorney Generals office by answering them with any question and provide them with any info they request.
I know some people will never be satisfied with this and will never pay. We truly hold ourselves to a high standard and there are plenty of people that pay us and are very happy about it. We offer very generous settlements and payment plans. We understand people fall on hard times. A lot of good people pay us and don't pay us. We understand some just cant so we will offer hardship. Some may not be happy with the living we try to make, but its what we do and I am very proud of it. We are proudly located in Southdale mall in Edina. We are not being investigated anyone. We run a legit business and can back up any of our claims. You just need to take the time to work with us. If you feel you cant not work with my employees than you can call me direct. My name is Mark and I am the President and CEO. My number is [removed:no longer valid]. - scammed before replies to Presidents LetterSo Mr. President - Mark- despite your veiled attempts to be legitimate, why do you condone the actions of your people acting the way they do? why do you not provide written notifications of these so called debts? You cannot expect to be considered legitimate if you cannot do the 2 basic things above and conduct yourself like an actual business. The fact is you do not... becasue you are not legitimate.
- orig scammer jammer replies to deleted postWhat a joke....
- anonymous replies to Presidents LetterFolks, legit collectors per section 809 of the FDCPA http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre27.pdf *must* tell you at initial contact, or send you paperwork within 5 days of initial contact, the following:
1. $amount of debt,
2. name of the current creditor (which may differ from the original creditor who might have sold your debt),
3. a statement that that debt will be assumed to be valid unless you dispute in writing within 30 days,
4. a statement that that if you do dispute in writing within 30 days, the collector must mail you written verification of the debt,
5. a statement that if you ask the collector in writing within 30 days, the collector must send you the name and address of the original creditor if it's different from the current creditor.
If you don't get the 5 disclosures, orally or in writing (you do not have to ask for them, the FDCPA requires collectors to provide them), treat the collector like you would any SCAMMER. Scammers are using bought/hacked loan application data to extort payments for fictitious debts from victims and victims' families and friends.
The FBI warns about payday loan extortion scams here http://www.fbi.gov/news/pressrel/press-releases/paydayloanscam_120710
The BBB has issued several alerts on this scam, just google "bbb.org alert phony debt collector"
Report to the Internet Crime Complaint Center http://www.ic3.gov/complaint/default.aspx , the Federal Communications Commission http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm , the Federal Trade Commission https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/ and your state AG, as appropriate. - Big DSame deal only they call my number for someone I have never heard of. Over and over. You can hear the phone lines being used around them. Say they will remove the number then call it again in a week. Most likely buying bad debt for ten cents on the dollar then try and collect. Poorly run operation and extremely rude. 952 715 6829

- kathy| 2 replies"Brad" from Bradstreet and associates at 952-715-6814 called out of the blue and said we owed US Bank $1500.00. this had been taken care of two and a half years ago. he was very condescending, rude and threatened a lawsuit. he was not very smart to boot. he is excellent at twisting words around and pitted my husband against myself about what we said to him. . several times when I asked for copies of documents, he said that was an unreasonable request and he won't do it. anyone down the street can call up and say we owe them $1500.00. no proof of documents, no money. I believe this man "and associates" is a scam.

- AnonymousIf this company is not a scam why are they so rude and do not tell you any information and even my own school and bank does not repeat my social security number to someone whos not me!!!! WTF Also if this is a real debt collector the people who call are rude and do not know how to talk to people. I have to find out what company this is by calling and when the answering machine tells me. I am not going to deal with them and call the bank and see why I am getting harrasing phone calls from a company that seems like a scam.

- jason replies to Presidents LetterMost of your points you stated are true but you do not talk about how you file a court case and sue someone... even if they try to mediate with you! You will not drop the charges. I've sent a direct call and tried to pay the amount in full but you guys still did not accept it since there's a court date in place. This is the worse collection company out there. We understand you do it for a living but you go the wrong way about it and harass people and do not even hear there side of the story to work with them!!
- ShawnHello-today I called your office and requested information about an account that you say I have and was sold to your office. I specifically asked for any correspondance that you have sent to me and was told that it was sent to a PO BOX in 2002. (8 years ago!!) I informed the person that I ve not been in that state for 8 years and have not received ANY documention from your office and could you send me documentation to my new address. His response:"ma'am, we sent you a letter in 2002 to a PO BOX address. I can not help it that you moved and didn't get the letter". WTF!!! He then proceeds to ask me so what arrangements do you want to make? I told him, I am NOT and WILL NOT agree to anything that you can not provide me documentation and proof of a debt that I made. He also said, this debt has been reported on your credit report since 2009. INCORRECT!!! I told him that I ran my report this morning and did not find such a company listed. Then he says, "oh....it will be reported by the 5th of next month. WTF!!!! Whot the hell are you guys???

- Sad and madI had a similar experience as other people who have posted comments here. The IRS put a hold on a Wells Fargo bank account and claimed the funds. Done deal. Now "Mr. Behringer" is calling and threatening us with a lawsuit... Wells Fargo had no knowledge of this company and Behringer would not send me any documentation. I am not trying to get out of paying any debt I may owe... I am trying to get caught up and get a handle on my finances but this company would not even work with me or set up smaller payments! They wanted the money paid in full "THIS MONTH" or they would sue me. Sad that they have such poor business practice and people skills. I work in telesales/retention and know this is NOT the way to speak to people.
