I saw this number several times on my caller ID while we were away for a few days.  Since I was expecting a delivery, I answered the phone when I saw the number today.  The man asked for me by name and without confirming, I asked "what's this about".   He indicated that my loan had been approved.  I replied, 1) I did not request a loan, 2) I don't need a loan and 3) remove my number from your calling list. Then he asked, apparently not hearing or simply ignoring my previous statements, sir are saying you want the loan or you do not want the loan.   I repeated my earlier reply and hung up.  He did give the company name, but I could not understand it - just know it was a finance company.  He also left a message on my answering machine earlier today that I didn't notice until aferwards - most do not.

Left a long incoherent message on my voicemail. I got loan, didn't get much else.

I had same experience as original post with respect to a loan.  In addition to asking for me by name he gave me my mailing address.  When asked how obtained this information he restated, "do you want the loan or not?"   This is an obvious scam and I recommend all to check their credit reports for free, at least once a year per your civil rights.

Eric Johnson got me for 350$. Said a loan for 5000 and I fell for it. Police called n everything and they hung up on them. This is crazy. Why is this stuff yapping? Iv heard if it but first time ever have I had it happen. Why can't they find anyone. Isn't there a phone tracker and theses people still pick up after u call them back the next day. You need to clean out the cobwebs in your skull, and realize
"It is illegal for companies doing business by phone in the U.S. to promise you a loan or credit card and ask you to pay for it before they deliver."

Protect yourself!
Recognize that NO legitimate company is going to offer you a loan, without their doing some background / credit checks on you, and they WILL generally need a snailmailed, signed contract.

If you or a friend fell for the scam, please try to educate your other friends.  The only way to stop these scams is to cut off their source of money!

Yup, they called twice, they knew my address. The guy told me to "kiss his ass" when i asked for proof of who they are. Ironically, the same guy answered when i called the second time. He hadn't realize who i was until i started laughing when  he came back from verifying the false account number i had given him.
