Soochal - 25 Mar 2008I just received a call from the same number (954-370-6846) and message was left - it was the high-pitched blare of a fax machine. Frustrating!

Toddles - 25 Mar 2008They just called my cell phone too. It was a recorded message saying I need to call back right away about my credit card trying to make it sound like there was a problem, though the message goes on to say later there is no problem. I know my credit card company has called with a fraud alert and they identify themselves the very first thing so I knew this was a scam. Just reported the number to www.donotcall.gov since my cell phone is registered along with my home phone.

again - 25 Mar 2008954-370-6846 has called my home phone again. I have contacted the Colorado Do Not Call list when these folks have called me before. It's not worth my time any more to contact the Do NOt Call List because they do nothing about it. If I change my number the harassers (Is thre such a word?) have gotten their way - If I don't change my number, they still win. Any suggestions?

A woman answered quickly, saying the name of some company I didnt hear well enough to understand.
Her first words after that were: "Did you press 1 to recieve a lower interest rate?" I said NO, I am wondering how you got my number, and why you are claiming to be from my credit card company. Who do you work for?
She replied "Sir, we work with the 4 major credit card companies: Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American express"
I said,"But you Don't work for my specific credit lender, do you?"
Surprisingly, she said No.
I told her I am Not interested in any fraud she is trying to commit, and to take me off the calling list since I am on the national do not call registry.
She said OK and hung up.
I reported it to the website listed below.

Sarg - 25 Mar 2008I recieved a call on my cell phone on Tuesday March 25th,2008 at 9:09am before I could get to the phone, it had stopped ringing and no message was left. I am also signed up with the DO NOT CALL Registry which does not help one bit. Is there any way of stopping these type of calls?

manningthree - 25 Mar 2008I just received a call from the same number, it was a recorded message saying "this is your credit card company, don't worry your account is in good standing however, if you wish to lower your interest rate push 1 or 7 to disconnect. I hung up, and then called the same number back it says it is a disconnected or nonworking number. I would suggest not answering a call from this number.

Stated that it was in reference to my credit account, that there was no problem but to contact them ASAP to save yadda, yadda, yadda. I hung up. COME ON PEOPLE - doesn't the Do Not Call list mean anything ???
