I received a call at my work place from a guy who said his name is Steven, and he is a investigator for this company, Taylor, Chase & Associates, and that since I didn't respond in the time allotted to a notice sent to me by mail regarding allegations of
bank fraud that I will be sued and if I wanted to prevent this matter from going to court then I could hold the line and speak with the attorney for Taylor, Chase & Associates about making a restitution payment.  The attorney, he said his name was Rick Ladell, said that I could pay them with a debit or credit card for 1500.33 and I would not have to go to court and I only had 1 minute to take the offer or the police will come to my job and arrest me. I've had these kind of calls before, so I asked for his name, his company name, the name of the company that is suing me and his phone number.  He only repeated his name and company name and became very hostile and told me I only have 30 seconds to take the offer or the police will come to arrest me and he doesn't have the time to go back and forth with me.  I started laughing and he then yelled at me, "This is not funny....and let's see how funny you'll think it is when the police come and shove your a** into the back of a chevy" He then hung up on me. This all started 3 yrs ago when I applied for a payday loan online and was denied. I used to only get these type of calls from people with foreign accents and american sounding names.   If it is not these calls saying that I have charges of bank fraud pending and they have my SS#, bank info, and work place information and just need to confirm my home address so they can have the court papers served, then it is the calls saying that my application for a car loan has been approved for $35,000.

Tell them the PD in your area don't drive Chevy's, they drive Crown Vic's!  I'd have laughed, too.

I got the same EXACT call today but with this number> 850-441-2917. Is it a scam or what?

On 5/23/14, I got this same call from a so-called Rick Ladell, almost word for word. Like you I didn't ct or respond to it and then they called my sister and tried using scare tactics on her to contact me, however, I haven't heard from them since. I retained attorney who said it is bogus and that as a so-called attorney they should know it is illegal to call and harass not to mention threaten someone.

Did you react or act on the call? Or have they tried to contact you anymore?

This is someone attempting to fraud people.

This company is called United Power Consultants.  They called my cell phone number and asked me if I want to save on energy costs. When I said I wasn't interested and tried to politely tell them not to call, the guy called me crazy and stupid.  I called back and tried to talk to the manager to tell them that I didn't appreciate being abused by their people and to take them off their list.  The "manager" then wanted my name and company information so that she could take me off her list. I told her that I don't need to give her the information except my phone number to take me off her list.  Then she started getting abusive. I got name of the company but when I asked them where they are located and what state that they are calling from, she suddenly said that she couldn't hear me and for me to call back and then hung up.

Lady claims to be a power company wanting all out info and says will call back in few days. Does not look for sales but clear fraud

Polite enough gentleman called asking if I was the one who handles the utility contracts for our business.  I politely told him that we were not interested and to have a good day and hung up.  I have told this company we are not interested on several occasions.  It wastes so much of my time to answer these annoying telemarketers.  I have never, nor will I ever, do business with a telemarketer.

The lady who called from this number was very rude & very adamant about speaking to a person who doesn't work at this location. I offered to transfer her to someone else who could possibly help her & she became hostile. I cut her off immediately & wished her a great day. I called the number back & asked for our number to be removed. I will see if they follow through. Scam.

HA!  I JUST got a call from the SAME number asking for ********* whom is my boss.  I said he wasn't here and asked how i could help.  they IMMEDIATELY said we have a bad connection and that they would call back.  They didn't call back in 12 seconds so i did.  I called them, they put me on hold and then someone came on and asked about our electricity.  I stated we already had power and weren't interested in switching.  the guy says no, are you under contract.  i said oh, yes we are.  he said oh ok, thats all we needed to know!    Said his good bye and hung up! NOW the original person just called and i answered and he was asking when a better time to call back would be and i said oh its ok, we got it all taken care of.  he said well i was going to call you back.  and i said well it wasn't fast enough so i called back and they asked me the necessary questions and we got it all straightened out already but thank you!  LOL  It comes up on caller ID as United Power Company... at least they did ask a *power* questions LOL

This number just called.  I did not and did not leave a message?  I'm sure it is a phishing scam.  We ju do not answer calls from numbers we don't known.  If it is important,  they will leave a message.

Wanted the office manager or whom ever orders supplies - asked about what type of equipment we had.

Same old scam that has been around for decades.

I didn't answer, and they didn't leave a VM.

Energy Company - Tried to transfer to an extension but lost him. Knew it was a scam when he politely ask how my day was going and what a wonderful day it was. Who talks like that? Scam

Claimed his name was "Dave Young"...number that showed was 954-582-7300 but gave me 800-738-6159 ext# 2023, asked for owner by name..said he talked to him in the past and wanted to follow up...NOT the case!  SCAM...so annoying!!!

I knew the same company called me before by chance. The Lady's name is Stacy Wildows had called on my phone 8 more times after hanging up with her today. She didn't give up and asked me to give her a few minutes of time. I hung up, she called again, and again. Do they have the right to do call people in such a manner? How could I avoid such annoying people from calling back again?
