I got a call from a Hispanic man the other day. I'm in Texas and the call came from  954-592-6409. The caller said his cousin was in a car accident with my husband and he got my # off his cell phone. At first he claimed he was trying to be helpful by calling me but later demanded $2500 for his cousin's medical expenses or they would shoot my husband. I called the police and now I'm trying to get the word out so this scammer can be stopped.

I got called a couple of minutes ago.  Same thing, hispanic man.  I am in NY.  They said they were calling from the gas station in New York.  Do I have a family member in NY?  They were in an accident.  I tried asking them questions, but they kept asking me if I had a brother, sister, any family member in New York because they were in a bad car accident.  I asked them to give me a name.  That I need to know who's in the accident.  They said they didn't know where the gas station was exactly.  I asked if an ambulance was called, they said they called the ambulance and they were on the way.  I said I didn't feel comfortable giving them my information and they said they were just trying to help.  I hung up and called my family members.  Once I knew everyone was ok I googled the # and came across this site.  My heart is still racing.

In NY, same story - he called my mother today.

I recieved a call from this person at my work claiming my husband was in a car accident and injured other people, he was demanding money because his cousin was a drug dealer..... blah blah blah, by now I knew it was a scam so I told him a fake name for my husband and a fake car model for my husband and when he said yes that was his name and the car involved I knew it was a scam - so I told him so and to never call this number again.

I got the same call today. He was claiming that my relative had an accident in Manhattan.

this number called me today saying my uncle hit his nephew with his car, and that when my uncle tried to call the cops.. they hit him upside his head with the gun and took him hostage  because his brother was a fugitive running from the cops and couldnt be around cops. they were asking for 2500 dollars to cover the medical expenses of his son. i was hysterical. they threatened to kill him if i called any cops or even hung up. i eventually had cops come and they spoke to the guy himself.. he then lied and said he was asking me for a school assignment... and stopped calling. it was two puerto rican men. they also called my father as well. when my uncle got home we then realized it was a hoax.

Got the same phone call in brooklyn i told them i have $10,000 doller for you come pick it up at he police staition and told them what do you think im stupid did ever worked for you to get money and they bangd the phone on me
