This particular  company calls several times a month asking for a person who doesn't live here and has NEVER lived here.  I let their calls and all Toll Free, Unknown, Anonymous, Unavailable calls go directly to the answering machine. If  I happen to be at home near the phone, I put them on hold.
I  don' allow it to bother me anymore, as I can just delete at my leisure, plus it's more of THEIR time wasted. Life is too valuable to waste on these morons.

I get this call every day looking for a Lionel Hughes,never heard of him, but they say he's my brother,I don't have any brothers.
They get hateful and call me lier,doesn't matter if I tell them not to call back.
I have tried to reason with them, but to no avail, there must be someone I can call, they call me at all hours and it's not supposed to be before 8 am or after 9 pm, I get calls from them after midnight and before 6 am, sometimes almost using foul language.
Guess I'm going to change my number,but I've had it for over 25 years.

record the call and then call the federal trade commision... that's highly illegal.

Has any one had calls fromthis number?  This thing rattles an 800 number at you and it doesnt repeat it.

These people have called me from a million different numbers looking for someone who does not live here. Even though I've repeatedly told them this, they still call. I bought a whistle and whenever they ask for the man who doesn't live here, I tell them 'Sure, hold on'... then blow that whistle into the phone as loud as I possibly can, then block the call for the future. If they won't stop calling, I'll deafen the [***], one by one.

yes, announces they are from Portfolio. calls from # 954-678-3362. Recoding says they are from Virginia.

I received a call ( recording) from this number that show up on my caller ID as Fort Lauderd FL, saying they were a debt collector. I do not have any late bills, my credit is A+, semi- retired.  I also received a call yesterday from Portfoliorecovery 859-918-0780 (recording). How can I get this to quit?

Thanks to Google voice which is now my cell phone's voice mail, a simple click blocks any further attempts by these morons.

I too get calls from PortfoliotoRecovery (from Caller ID) all the time, several times a day every day. I have never answered. This has gone on for months and months. They always hang up when they get my answering machine--today they left a message for the first time. They are debt collectors and are trying to  collect a debt. I have no debts, never have, never will. I have reported them and their various numbers to the federal Do Not Call complaint website many times, but apparently the feds don't care how much they pester us. I block the number, so they use another. I block it, and so forth. I am at my wit's end, but I refuse to pick up the phone. My message is generic, so they can't even really know who it is they've reached. But they keep calling. I've assumed it was a computerized call, but from the notes on this page, it looks as though it is a real person calling. If anyone knows how to stop it, please post!

I, too, am sick of these calls.  I will call the CEO - Steve Frederickson at their office and tell him I will start federal court action under the TCPA and FDCPA if these calls do not cease.
