I received a call telling me they were responding to my online application for health insurance.  I did fill one out and was flooded with calls and e-mails.

However this person tried to get me to pay them $479 over the phone TODAY!!  This would be $75 for the application fee and $419/mo for coverage for my family of three.

He really didn't ask me any questions about my family's health.  He just said he had all the info he needed from the online questionnaire I filled out.

He told me that I would be signing up for a PPO that would give me 70/30% coverage.  He said the insurance was through the Beachstreet PPO Network (claiming it was the same network that Blue Cross & Blue Shield and all the other providers used).  He seemed quite annoyed by my questions.  I told him I'd have to do some research.  This conversation was quite unusual from anyone else I spoke to.

I told him I needed to make sure my providers would accept the insurance.  He was very annoyed and said it would be quite rare that they would not accept it, but to go ahead and tell him some of my providers.  After a brief pause he said they were in the network.

Then I asked him what the name of the company was.  He said "the Beachstreet PPO Network".

I said, "That's the company?"  He said that's the network that all the insurance providers use.

Then I said, "Who would I be writing my checks too?  What insurance company?"

Then he said, "I'm sorry ma'am that I couldn't help you today."

Clearly this is a scam!!  Please don't be so foolish as to sign up for insurance if you don't even know the name of the insurance company that's backing it.

I recieved a call from them today for health insurance.  It had been quite a long time since I filled out their form(I had filled it out thinking it was just somestupid survey) and when I told them this, the rap said "Then why are you wasting my time."  Now this upset me, so I called them back to speak to their manager.  After a bit of a runaround, they finally patched me through. Now this person seemed to care about my situation; asking about who the rep was, explaining about their zero tolerance policy for situations like this, and giving me a referral number for the termination of this employee. Now this is when it went all downhill. the referral number was ID-10-T#1.  Needless to say I was rather upset!

We unfortunately (being denied and desperate) filled out a health insurance form for these people as well. Premier Health is who they said they where. website www.phpinsure.com. Gave the same spill as what Melissa had. After we realized what we had done. We called the credit card company and cancelled the card. We called them the next day to cx the policy. After being on hold forever and then the 1st lady then sending us to "customer service". We told the man that we were cancelling due to finding another insurer. He told me good luck with that and hung up. Don't do any business with these crooks.

For the record, I received 3 phone calls in the space of 3 minutes after filling out a form online to get quotes on health insurance. I then went to the website - www.phpinsure.com. There is absolutely no useful information on this site whatsoever. I too believe it's a scam. On other insurance sites you can see what is offered, but not there.

I also filled out a form on ehealthinsurance.com and got bombarded with calls. I found out once we hit the submit button our information is disbursed electronically to many insurance marketers. Many are legitimate and licensed. However, many are selling discount plans which are not insurance. These discount plans are, at the most, of very little garbagge. Some of the marketers cater to uninsurable prospects. Some of these plans are good for what they are some qualify as creditable coverage.

I also found out there are many reputable plans that are underwritten companies that are rated "A" (Excellent) by A.M. Best. Such plans are contracted with large networks such as beechstreet (www.beechstreet.com) and multiplan  what t(www.multiplan.com) Providers can be found/verified at these websites quite easily.

Beeen through the pitch with PHPInsure. After telling them during our initial call that I needed to take another call they started re-calling three minutes later non-stop until I picked up. Then they wanted me to provide credit card info over the phone to lock in the current plan they were offering. I said no, I was in no hurry and required an actual policy quote from the insurer like legitimate agents provide. They said I had to go to a website to get policy details and that they could walk me through it. Told them I would only pay a premium by check or electronic payment to a legitimate AM Best rated company after receiving a formal quote with all policy details. The agent was irritated telling me, even if it was a fraud, my credit card company would cover the loss. Imagine that...a salesperson offering up "even if we were going to scr*w you...your covered!". The general pitch was so pathetic and full of holes...that I ended enjoyed the sophomoric pitch. However, the tragedy is so many genuinely hopeful and desperate people are ripped off by scum.

If it seems too good to be true folks...you can generally count on it, that it is.

    Reported them!
    Complaint:

I requested online only insurance quotes from healthinsurancedirect.com, within minutes our phone
rang. It was a woman trying to sell us insurance, when I told her I was expecting online quotes
she forwarded me to another person that began to try to hard sell insurance to me, and wanted my
bank account info. I told him I wanted to check out the company first and he became irritated, so I
asked him for his number to call him back, he said he would call me back at a certain time. That
made me suspicious and I had an elderly neighbor at my door, so I told him I could not make a
time, so to please give me his name and number, he would not and then he began to berate me so I told him I would not buy any insurance from his company, and specifically told him not to call our number again, he hung up. Then he called right back and screamed at me, I told him again not to call our number and that I would report him, he laughed and said "go ahead" and hung up, he then called back again, we did not pick up. These calls were unsolicited. The number that called first was 512-647-6364  (at 3:21 p.m.) and they called me 2 more times after I told them NOT TO CALL BACK from 954-773-2800 (at 3:42 p.m. and 30 seconds later also at 3:42 p.m.). I am reporting this violation to the National and Wisconsin do not call lists. I I will be keeping a record of any further calls from this company or representatives for more complaints. I specifically asked that our number be removed from their system. This person refused to identify himself Or his company or his call back number when I requested. He mentioned Health Insurance Innovations, andwhen I requested he send me a brochure, he told me insurance companies don’t do that until after you buy the insurance. He told me he was selling insurance for  all companies that serve Wisconsin and attempted to get my bank account number information from me, and when I would not do so, he harassed me, and calledAgain to harass me more, I would not answer the third call. There are MANY complaints associated with this phone number on an internet search I did after these calls. Please investigate this company before you give them ANY INFORMATION. Thank you.

I've also been through the pitch with PHPInsure, and I also filled out a form on ehealthinsurance.com to get health insurance quotes and got bombarded with calls. RUN AWAY, RUN AWAY! These people are scam artists, and besides wanting to sell you "health insurance" they also want to sell you a Rx plan, Accidental Death insurance and membership in a Consumer Group. The real truth is that the insurance policy isn't an actual health care insurance policy. It covers virtually nothing! These people prey on folks who have lost their insurance or can't get a policy because they have pre-existing conditions. They hook you because you are desperate and reel you in because they convince you that their plan is your only option. And as others have noted, they are cocky and RUDE! Not to be trusted!!!!!!!!!

I got the same call after filling out the online quote request.  I got a call asking for my age, height, weight and if I'm in good health.  They never asked for money.  I was then put on hold and then hung up on.  After thinking that this was highly unusual I started googling this number and company.  I couldn't find anything to say that they were a legit company.  Don't be scammed by 954-773-2800!!

I don't know what you folks are complaining about. I filled out an online inquiry on e health insurance for insurance quote and put my phone number down when the website asked for it. Obviously this would attract phone calls from insurance agents. I dont know why you guys think it wouldn't. Anyways, after being bombarded with phone calls from different companies, i settled on PHPInsure. They helped me get a plan when others offered me absurd prices. I used the insurance already for a routine check up and had no problems. These people arent scammers. In fact, I called back a couple times before signing up and they were very helpful with all my questions and got me decent coverage at a rate that no others could beat.

I knew what would happen once I entered my number.  However, I WILL NOT tolerate after I REPEATEDLY ask for my number to be removed and to stop calling me.  The guy seriously was RUDE!  He asked well isn't your email such and such.  I asked again for my number to be removed and he said when you stop being rude and yelling I will remove it.  I hung up, he called me back like two or three times!!  In the last conversation he said I needed to look up rude or whatever and was just down right disrespectful.  I would like to know how they have the right to call someone back repeatedly and be disrespectful?!?!

I also applied for health insurance online, and received a call from this company.
They found me a policy, but when I asked them to send me the information on the plan, they stated that is not my concern.
I told them that I was not going to sign a contract, and send money to them without seeing a policy in writting.
The lady then said I clearly don't understand and said they could not help me.
    Stay away from this company

Here's my story about this number. My wife recently lost her job along with insurance coverage. I'm self-employed so we were left totally without coverage.
We contacted this company, phpinsure.com, they did not initially contact us. The Representative was very helpful and explained everything well. He gave me a contact number of 877-883-9404 ext 2005 to reach him if I had any further questions. We made the decision to get coverage through this company and we were transferred to another Rep that recorded our agreement and took our bank info for auto-withdraw of payments. As the call was nearing to an end, the Rep explained that the withdraw would be made on Jan 20th which afterward we would receive info in the mail explaining all of the plans details. That drew a red flag with me and I asked that the info be sent ahead of the withdraw so we could have the chance to review it first. The guy said they can't do it that way and got a little snippy saying that's not how the insurance companies do it and that there was no choice in the matter. At that point we plainly told him to cancel everything and to not go through with anything, we told him that we were not comfortable with it at all. He agreed to the cancellation, the call was still being recorded so this was all on tape. We immediately tried calling the 877 number back to see if we could speak with the original Rep that took our call to verify that everything had been stopped, we got a recorded message saying the number was temporarily unavailable. We tried back several times and again the next day only to get the same message.  I checked my bank account on Fri the 20th and nothing had been taken out, I breathed a slight sigh of relief.
Yesterday, we received a voicemail from a guy named Larry, this is basically what he said. "This is Larry from the company where you purchased your health coverage and this call is to let you know your packet is in the mail and you should be getting it shortly. If you have any questions you can reach me at 877-883-9404" I knew right then we had been scammed. The message he left did not even mention his companies name, how unprofessional that would be for a reputable company to leave such a message. I checked my bank account and they had taken the money, I was fuming. I tried calling the 877 number and of course got the temporarily unavailble message. I tried calling the number that had come through on my cell phone which was 954-773-2800 and I did actually get ahold of Larry. He was apologizing that it was all human error and that they would have the money transferred back to our account within 7-10 business days. I let him know what scam i thought they were running and he was trying to assure me that if they were running a scam, I would never hear from them and that we would never be able to get ahold of them. I told him that the 877 number I had been given was unavailable, he acted all surprised and called the number while he had me on the phone, I then heard a busy signal and he told me, "see, the number is functional, i'm calling it right now and getting a busy signal" to me that doesn't prove anything at all and the fact that he was so quick to come up with that idea makes me believe even more that it's a scam. Anyway, Larry promises me that we will have our money returned, I'm not holding my breath but i have the feeling that they will return it. I realize this is a very long post but I have a few thoughts about what is going on and a few helpful suggestions for people to heed.
I think, though bottom of the barrell, they are a real company.  I surmise because I caught the withdraw quickly, (the same day it was taken) and called them immediately about it, they probably make the practice of going through their routine of apologizing etc... But what about some people who simply wait for their bank statement to arrive in the mail, my guess then would be they would be told that since they waited so long to call, the initial payment would not be refunded but they would stop any future withdraws.
They promise to return the money to the account within 7-10 days, we'll see, and I'll let you know, but one thing for sure is DON'T DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY!!
Just a quick word of advice for everyone before I end this. If you find yourself in our situation where you've lost your job and ins. coverage, DO NOT deal with ANY companies that are not a known ligitimate, reputable insurance company. We made the mistake of shopping online, giving our contact info out to places like esurance.com....... DON'T DO THIS! All they do is sell your info to dozens and dozens of companies and your phone will not quit ringing. For these places calling, it becomes a mad dash to be the first to hook you. They all have your best interest in mind and they will all tell you they are the best company in the entire world. They DO NOT want to let you off of the phone without getting you to commit because they know another company is going to be contacting you and they will lose you if you hang up without agreeing. Another thing I've learned from all of this, NEVER make a decision over the phone. From the beginning of the conversation, request that the company send you info through snailmail, if they say they can't or won't, then DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THEM! Simply tell them I don't make decisions over the phone and if they are unable to send you info, then you are unable to do business with them. Sorry that this has gone on so but hopefully I have helped to prevent someone from getting in the mess we're in right now.

    Not cool
Got a call, spoke with someone about a plan. He insisted that this was the correct plan for me even though they work with many other companies and that the other plans just went up in price from there. When I asked him for his contact information and name so I can compare it to other quotes I had he told me "I thought you wanted health insurance." I replied that I do but I want to compare with other plans, he snapped back that they work with all these other companies and he can give me more plans. I thought to myself "Well you wont give me any other plans, you only gave me one and insisted it was THE ONE and the others were much pricier" But, Instead of saying that I said " Well Id also like to discuss these plan details with my husband as well before I make any decisions. To which he replied "Oh, You think just because your young, you know everything about health insurance." And then I replied "Youre being a dick, goodbye" and hung up. I then recieved atleast 6 return calls from the same number throughout the rest of the day. All of which I ignored of course. Oh, and I got a few voicemails that consisted of Elevator/wait music.
