Telemarketer calls and says they are moving to Florida and have discounts on office supplies. Says they need to clear out stock. Gives you really low prices, and tells you shipping is free. Doesn't mention that the prices are for BULK orders. Few days leter theres a PALLET (not just a few things you thought you agreed to) of unauthorized office supplies being delivered by "UPS." But if you call UPS, they tell you the tracking number is not a UPS tracking number, and is also unauthorized. Later you'll get an invoice for thousands of dollars!!

Got a call today and last week as well from "Jenny" who was looking for payment on an invoice for $2,847.85 for office supplies.  Strange - we ONLY order office supplies from a company right here in Chicago!  I have called the number many times but either get a fax line beep or a voice message.  I have left several messages noting that I want to pay this invoice ASAP (Yeah, right!) but so far no call back from Ms. Jenny.  Hmmm...perhaps they are monitoring this site?  I am forwarding this information to the proper authorities.   Southbay is a total scam and they are going to be stopped!

I got fired because of this scam. Same story, even the invoice doesn't show how many items you are receiving.

This number is for South Bay Office Products in Deerfield Beach, FL, which operates an office supply scam. The owner has re-located and changed the name of the business several times over the years. Sometimes the caller will identify the business by a different name, such as King's Office Supplies - sometimes the name of a legitimate business. To be on the safe side, make it company policy to never order office supplies over the telephone.

These people call several times in advance of conducting their scam to collect names of company employees, including the person who orders office supplies and administrators who would be in a position to authorize orders. Then, the caller pretends to be acquainted with a company administrator, such as the controller, and claims that he/she has been referred to the person who orders office supplies by the administrator. Asking for and mentioning people in your company by name makes this scam seem so credible at the time.

Same deal.  Received a call from a lady calling herself Dana Parker of Parker Industries in Decatur, IL offering closeout pricing due to the business relocating to Florida.  Said she knew our Controller (who is from Decatur) and that he had referred her to me.  I checked the Internet for Parker Industried and noted a business of that name in Decatur.  I ordered $348 worth of supplies over the phone and she then mentioned I would receive an invoice from South Bay Office Product, the new name for her business.  When the South Bay invoice came, it was 12 times the agreed to amount.  Luckily, we still have the items and will send them back COD.

Where can i send the supplies back to???? they are billing me for $19530.30, the quantity is not stated on the invoice..

DO NOT PAY FOR THE ITEMS. I called them back and demanded they provide shipping labels, which I didnt have to even return, since I never ordered the stuff in the first place... and then I just got a call from a guy there the other day "checking on the status of my invoice" . Idiots.

The dba name has been changed from South Bay Office Products to ALL STATES OFFICE SUPPLY. The address (1100 S Powerline Rd, Deerfield Beach, FL) and telephone number have not changed.

Although I've seen the new name for South Bay Office Products as written above, I believe the new dba name is actually ALLSTATE OFFICE SUPPLY INC. These people often re-name their business with a name that's very similar to a currently existing business. Quite obviously, the name confusion is intentional. But, I want to be careful not to give an honest business a bad reputation.

I've seen their new name displayed both ways. It's very confusing, and I'm sure that's intentional. For anyone who's in the Deerfield Beach area on March 16, 2011 and is looking for a party to crash, here's an opportunity to tell the scammers and any visitors what you think of their devious operation in person:
