The caller ID reads Blair 954-922-1016. I've gotten many calls from this number over the past two weeks but haven't answered. When I saw the  name "Blair" I thought it was the mail order place out of Warren, Pa., which I have ordered from in the past.
Today my husband answered before checking who it was.  The lady asked for me.  She told me because I was a loyal customer that my name had been put in a pool and I won the drawing of $5,000 towards a life insurance policy.  When I told her I didn't need any life insurance she just kept right on talking.

I think this (954) Blair is a phoney  company and they're using the real Blair Company out Pennsylvania's name  to make it look credible.

Ruben Acosta calls several times a week, does not leave a message.  This person is bumping numbers off the caller ID.  Don't know what he/she wants, but I wish the calls would stop

apparently if you have ever ordered from Blair Catalog, your number can be passed to their "trusted affiliates" for their use to inform you of their products -- I have received numerous calls from this number and have largely ignored them until today.  caller id also indicated "Ruben Acosta".  I asked immediately who was calling and that person indicated he was calling on behalf of Blair Catalog sales.  I immediately told him not to call my number again.  under the rules governing the national "do not call" registry, companies with whom you have had a business relationship in the last 18 months can call your number even if it's on the registry.  look at the description Blair gives under the privacy and security provision on their website.

If this turns out to be related to the real Blair catalog company, we'll be canceling our subscription and never ordering from them again.

How does the phone number 954-922-1016 morph from caller id Blair to caller id Ruben Acosta?  Ruben Acosta is what my caller id has been showing for the past several weeks now.  As CC's October 14th post states, be aware that the National Do Not Call Registry does not prohibit calls from companies with which you have an existing business relationship. This seems to be fuzzy: my relationship is with Blair not Ruben Acosta. So is Ruben Acosta in violation of the DNCR?

I just got off the phone with the real Blair company. I was told that they DID in fact give our information to a third-party insurance seller, which is what lead to all the damned phonecalls we've been getting that say "Blair" on the caller ID.

As a result, we told Blair that after many years our relationship with them is finished, they had no business passing out our personal information to other companies for the sake of lining their own pockets with money, especially when that third party is harassing us by phone as a loophole to the damned Do Not Call lists.

This garbage should be against the law.

Oh, I just got one of these last night. It woke up and alarmed my 88 year old mother who always thinks a late call (it was almost 9 pm) means that one of the grandkids is in trouble.

I don't need insurance (lucky me) and am never going to buy anything from Blair again. Nice job, guys!

Keeps calling - answered once but no one talked so I hung up. It is from Blair.

I recieved a telephone call from Blair at 954-922-1016 and they stayed on the line without saying a word?  Maybe it is because we are an investigation Firm?

This number calls my house at least once a day.  It has always been when we are not at home but they never leave a message.  Now that I have read the posts I will not bother to answer it if I am home.  Do they ever give up and stop calling?

Did the *57 thing, called their number, and the operator said it was not a Qwest number so she couldn't do anything about it! HOWEVER, if you dial *57 after each and every time, that is a trace; after 3 traces, the police will be notified! Do it, I am!
