They call trying to get remote access to your computer. They claim to be from Microsoft and say that your computer is sending error messages that an "infection" is on your computer and wants remote access to help you remove it. BE AWARE, THIS IS A SCAM! Microsoft will NEVER call you asking for access to you computer and you computer does NOT send them error messages. They want access so they can steal personal information from your computer, including bank and credit card information as well as personal information like social security numbers, address and other information your steal your ID. I let him go thru his speech and when he asked me to allow him to remotely access my computer, I told him I worked for Microsoft (which I do not), he paused for a moment, said ok then hung up. I tried to call back, but only got a busy signal (like the one you hear when the phone has been left off the hook).

Called me at 6:35 AM.  A loud ring came once when phone was answered & then foreigner said hello

Called here very early this morning. When I said hello it rang like I was calling them. I just hung up
And didn't appreciate them waking us.

Early morning call.   All I heard was foreign voice and computer, and hung up.  Didn't check caller I'd because so early, so will check from now on.

I didn't answer - no message

Received a call at 6:40 this a.m.  As soon as they said Windows, I knew it was a scam and told him to never call back.  He said he would keep calling over and over, and I hung up.

And they just called back again! I did the same thing (told them I was a technician) and they pause and hang up.

I got a call from area code 968, someone with an accent said something about computer. I said if you can speak English I will talk to you. She hung up on me!

Called me 3 separate times today.  I asked her name, she said it was "Charlie Smith."  I asked to speak with her supervisor during the 3rd call and she said the supervisor was dead.  Was very pushy and aggressive.  

Every time I ask for a supervisor they hang up on me

I just got a call from this number as well. It has not been 3minutes ago.

Received a call at 7 a.m..  Foreign voice tells me he is from microsoft and I have serious issues with my computer and it has error messages he is receiving them and needs to correct and fix.  968-958-2961 is located in the Middle East.  They are trying to get remote access to your computer and steal all your info.  Beware

Recevied a call this morning at 7 am.  Caller stated he was calling from Windows.  I hung up and immediately called by phone company to have the number blocked.  The area code is from Oman.  I tried to get all numbers blocked for Oman since I don't know anyone but my phone company told me I could only block individual numbers.  Bummer

I received a call from this number and said "Do you realize you are calling a bank?" They apologized and hung up.  They called again this morning at 4:19AM Pacific time.....missed call.  These people should be stopped!

Had all of above happen to us.  They call once per week over last 2 months.We, of course, never gave them any information as it is an obvious hoax. Trolling for your personal information. We tell them that we are on to them but they are relentless calling back. With VOIP service nowadays doesn't always mean that the area code is coming form country of Oman. Today they called at 8:24AM EST. (have Indian or Pakistani type accent) and said they were going to "Kill our computers".  I guess we finally got to them.

I received  a phone call from (968)958-2961 on September 23, 2014.  The person was speaking in a language that I could not understand, sounded possibly like Chinese maybe?  

I received the same call at work from 968 958 2961. It was a middle eastern man trying to access my computer. I ask them if I could speak to an American:) I just played games with them. It's fun, but watch out. Never give your IP address to anyone.

I just got another one of these calls and again told them never to call my number again - like that would work. My question is - is it legal, appropriate, allowed for me to blow a whistle in the phone to help stop them?
