Just got a robocall from “CFPP Research," asking my participation in a brief, important public opinion survey.  If I participated, I’d get a free, two-night cruise to the Bahamas (gratuities and port charges not included).  For kicks, I took the survey.

1.    Rate how the Democrats in the House and Senate are handling the debt crisis (1 (worst) to 5 (best) scale).
2.    Rate how Republicans in … (same thing)
3.    Rate how the President is handling (same thing)
4.    Which of the following would best address the current debt crisis?
1 – Cut spending
2 – Create jobs
              (I kept waiting for “3 – Raise taxes” but it never came – strange…)

Upon completing the survey, I was connected to “Eric,” at Caribbean Cruise Lines in Tampa.  I asked for some info about the company, saying I wanted to ensure this was a legit offer.  He said he didn’t know what “offer” had referred me to his call center.  I said I did a telephone survey, and he answered “Oh, one of those…”

“Do you guys get a lot of those?”

“Actually, yes – we get lots of referrals from the surveys.”

When I asked for a number for CFPP Research, Eric said he'd give it to me after we completed the ticketing process for the cruise (which, by the way, required $118 in port charges to be paid).  I bailed at that point.

I found other entries on this board for CFPP Research.  Very clearly looks like they're "SUGging" ("selling under the guise" of research, as we refer to it in the opinion research industry.  It's completely unethical and, in the DNC Registry context, it's illegal.  I've forwarded this info to my colleagues at the American Association for Public Opinion Research, along with the URL to the other CFPP postings on this board, so they may consider action they might take against these low-lifes who give real opinion researchers such a bad reputation.

Received call from same; didn't answer  :)

Saw CFPP Research on my ID and didn't answer it, and looking at the first post from Steve, it was the right call. Lying cheating dirty [***].

Getting repeated call from this number with no message. I finally picked up on one and they wanted me to complete a survey. I said i wanted to be removed from their cal list and they said they could only do it for the survey that i was now on. What is the point of that!

Unsolicited calls are becoming a real annoyance despite the national do not call list

I got the same call.  Went through the same questions and then was transferred to get my "free cruise".  Some answer, "How can I help you"?  I answered, "I was told you would help me, relative a free cruise"  At that point the person just hanged up the phone on me.

Caller ID displayed Gresham OR so I didn't answer.  And I'm on the famous 'Do Not Call' list.

When I just got home I found a call from that number on my VM they did leave a robo message. I am also on the DNC List.

Got a call from this #. No message on answering machine. This crooked company should be shut down immediately.

Up they called me too - Robo Call that hung up.

We got one of these calls yesterday and another this morning.  We did not pick up either call, suspecting a scam and/or time-waster.n  From other postings, this is a company that pretends to be conducting a survey, but is actually some sort of telemarketer.

CFPP Research called wanting my participation in a survey.  Calling number 971-220-1006.

Just received a call from this number. When I answered, there was no response. I said, "Hello" again, rather loudly. still no answer. I said, "If you call someone, you should at least have the common courtesy to respond when I answer." At this point they hung up.

Our calls are not for "Sales", they are to get your opinion.  Much like the days when you'd get a survey in the mail with a $1 bill inside, we are testing a new form of the concept by connecting survey takers with great promotional offers.  These offers exist to anyone (whether you take the survey or not) directly with companies doing the promo offers.  CFPP does not benefit from you redeeming a promo offer.  However, we felt if we had something to sweeten our request for your opinion - we'd see better response rates to the survey requests - and it is working.

As I mention above, we are happy to discuss our project with anyone that would like to give us a call.  And, the fact that you didn't get our direct number from 'Eric' is an issue I will take up with our promotional partner.  Our contact information should never be denied for any reason.

By calling people who are on the national and/or state "do not call" lists, you are automatically angering and annoying people.  People go on those lists to avoid getting these kinds of calls.  You are not helping your cause by annoying people.  Why can't you understand that?  It's basic common sense, and you company clearly has none.

They now have a new number (503) 563-0017 at least this is what showed up on my caller ID for CFPP Research.
I got a call today same offer but the questions were to be about national debt.

Called at 3:20pm. I didn't answer.

Just received a call from this number a few minutes ago -- it came up CFPP Research on my caller ID.  Not much that can be done about this one, as surveys and political calls are exempt from the DNC registry. Sadly, this is almost all I ever get, and if I bother to answer the phone (I generally do not pick up calls from numbers I do not recognize) I usually end up hanging up. I just wish there was an easier way to block these, as I get them in spades and absolutely never participate.

This is a FAKE survey. They point is to trick you into overpaying for the "free cruise". Total scam.
