They tried to scam me buying my wedding dress

Yep! Just tried it on me! Had me going for a bit there but knew something was fishy. Said he wanted my dress for his daughter. Jerkface.

seems all i get is scammers "looking to buy my wedding dress". This is the second time. I've got to the point if it's not my area code or one i recognize I just say "yes it's still for sale, but I DO NOT ship or accept any form of check". and they never message back.

Scammer tried to get me to give money to a child with a brain tumor. Tried to figure out how they got my number.  Seeing all the other complaints were about buying a wedding dress now I know. Glad to see I'm not the only one.

This number texted me and asked me if my wedding dress is still for sale. Via Text, they offered to send a money order. I knew right then it was a scam because something as important as a wedding dress at least warrants a phone call or something!

I am trying to sell some stuff on craigslist and have received called from this #. Felt sketchy from the first and I am glad after finding this that I did not follow through with the conversation. They kept asking if what I was selling was still available. When I was asking more indepth questions, they disregarded and kept asking for my full name and mailing address. I have been in collections for over 15 years and knew the sites to go to for searching this number and another (971-248-0524). Avoid texts and calls from these numbers if you are trying to sell something!!! It frustrates me because I really need to sell this stuff and got my hopes up to be let down!!!

I got a text from this number wanting to know size and last asking price on my dress from this number 971-248-0524. I know it's a joke because the size is in the ad this has happened twice now

Omg I'm so glad I googled the number. This same person just tried to get me with the same wedding dress story !! It saddens me because I'm a young single mother to a 8 month old baby and its sad people are crazy to wanna take from that.

Tried it on me, wedding dress, blah, blah, blah.  Gosh, could they stop wasting our time?

Got a text that said, ".what is the size of the dress and its last asking price? I texted back, "?Which one". They replied, "lived in your city i just got a job in Utah as a security agent and am just getting for my daughter's wedding. So right now am not in the city but i am interested in buying the dress cos she love it and the price is okay..i will be paying you the exact amount of the dress and $30 extra for you to hold it for sell fit to me. i will pay via postal money orders i want you consider selling the dress".
I replied, " You are a scammer, a thug and a pig! Don't contact me again! LOSER!".

@Lynn who posted January 15th I got the same exact message word for word! Texted him back telling him I was reporting him. What a jerk!!

Wow I got the exact same text message that "Lynn" got word for word. I also posted on Craigslist. And at 5pm this morning I got a text from 917-248-0594 and it said "Still ur dress for sale?" I got a bad feeling from the start. I did reply though and told them "yeah." Three hours later they texted back "I used to live in ur city I just got a job in Utah as a security agent and am just getting for my daughters wedding. So right now am not in the city but I am interested in buying the dress cos she love it and the price is Kay...I will be paying you the exact amount of the dress and $30 extra for you to hold fr sell fit to me. I will pay via postal money orders I want you consider selling the dress to me. Please let me know if its accepted."  I texted back cause I don't live anywhere near Utah and asked how are they going to get if if it needs to be mailed or they gonna pick it up and how long it will be. They texted back " thanks so much. I'll want you get back into me with your address so the payment can get sent to you as soon as possible. I love the dress and ill like it for my daughter. All i need is your full name,where the payment will be sent to." And I replied the exact same message that I sent before since they didn't answer. That's when I googled the number and found this. Thanks so much for everyone that's posted about this scammer they need to be stopped!!!

Well they are still at it... same messages being sent out, just new numbers. They are wasting my time, so i get them all excited & make them take the time to issue me their fake checks , they have to pay for shipping to get it to me....lol  then I just tell them they are scamming the wrong people & sorry your check didn't clear, even though I never take it to my bank, just throw it away & make my police report.

Watch out everyone he is still at it. I just received the same exact message as  Lynn on here just Yesterday and Today both days with each of these numbers.

I am so glad that I found this, I was being scammed! he sent me a check for 1979.00 and i knew off the bat something was totally wrong because i only asked for 100 dollars. he said the same things and he kept switching phones. talked to my mom and she told me about fraud and stuff. so i googled his number and i am baffled at what i see. thanks to this site i avoided fraud! he also texted me from (209)245-8792 watch for this number as well.

He just did the same thing to me. Word for word as what he has said to yall. What a loser.

Something told me to google this number because for almost a month now I have been waiting for a money order. But always the instructions for delivery changes. Im really not waiting, just want to see what is really going to happen. First it was USPS, then FEdEx then I dont hear from him then he makes up all excuses. He went from Utah to CT now... Im playing him as he thinks hes playing me...
All the texts I just read are exactly what he said and its also for a wedding dress... creepy...
Funny that the area code is an Oregon area code and not from Utah where he claims to be... All I can do is shake my head... Good thing Im not really hard up and waiting for this money for something important you know? SMDH

Oh and this time his name is James PECK or James Williams.
