Received a call from this individual 10//26 @ 3 pm eastern.  Caller id'd himself as an MSN IT specialist who wanted to check into suspicious activity that MSN was detecting from/ happening on my PC.  Most likely with out my consent or knowledge. Wanted me to type in "EVENTVWR" in my run box but i didn't do it. Told him i was hanging up and calling police and local news.  Most likeley a burner phone but i DO see it was reported LOST by someone.  Could be the previous owner or my caller after he was worried about getting caught?

I work for an IT company and we have had customer's receive this call. Two of which allowed them to gain access to their machine. DO NOT let anyone have access to your computer. This is a scam that has been going around for sometime now. There is not central server and they can not see what is going on with your computer. They are fishing for information that you may have stored on the machine.

FYI I was looking this number up because I had just received this call, and did not answer

Got this number on land line.women asked for me.i asked who it was and they hung up.

Got a call from this # at 6:30 am 2 days ago.......didn't answer of course. Caller ID said "Oregon"

I Receive a call from this number on 11/2/2013 at 7:25pm and seem like scam call. Portland Beaverton Police please keep an eye on this number, thanks.

More then likely it is a spoofed number and I doubt the POPO read here either, let alone BPD!  Do report these calls here:

lady called i could not understand her she said i had a problem with my pc i  told her to bite it she hung up i tried to call back phone # it doesn't

I received this call for at least the 4th time.. I actually did the fishing this time and was told by the caller with a stong Indian dialect that he was calling from Balhi.  When I told him I want him to NEVER call me again he said 'Mam, this is impossible, this is impossible Mam"  Anyone know how to block scammers from calling?  I'm afraid my frustration got the best of me and I called him and idiot and hung up the phone.  So irritating!

Telemarketer with light Indian accent who started his pitch about government Grant Programs, Said his name was "Louie".  I cut him off and said "Louie!  I can hear a bunch of people on the phone in the background, You are working in a sweatshop - you are better than this, get yourself a better job."  He got real quiet - so I went on to tell him I would block the number and post it online, and asked him to dump my number.  It was pretty funny.  Next time I am going to urge the scammer to bring a gun into work and to "act for all Americans - stop the madness!"  Can't wait.  I then reported the number here and blocked it through Call control app for andriod.

Got a call from 971-555-0129. Like above, MSN tech...got pretty agitated when I told him I thought it was a scam.  Started telling me who I was, my phone # and everyone else's name with the same last name I have.  All info he can get out of a telephone directory. All customers he said.  Also tried to convince me that he was a real MSN employee by telling me he was 23 years of age (really?).

Got it this morning ignored it, Doing the rounds in NL. My mother in law got the call as well she is 83, doesn't own a computer. There must be enough Gullible victims out there to keep this scam going all these years

I work 2nd shift so this CLOWN woke me up.

Got this number twice today, didn't answer because an apparent US number calling my mobile is going to cost me connection as well. After those posts glad I ignored it.

They also use 503-658-8815   same clowns ...

I got a call from the number. The voice had a very heavy Indian accent. Asked if I was the primary user of the computer. I told him I wasn't and they said that they would call back. My phone showed "DIR ASST       OR".

Have been receiving this same call. On caller ID it says "Dir Assist, OR". Guy sounds like he is from India, says he is with Windows something or other and says the same kind of thing as the MSN calls. Tells me to turn on my computer so he can walk me through this. When I ask what message my computer has been sending out and for how long, He gives me and answer, to which I respond it has not been on for weeks, so how is it sending out messages.... He still tries to get me to turn it on. So I ask which computer, since we have FOUR! He can't answer, of course, so he tells me to go to the computer and put in some info. Blah, blah, blah.... Of course I say it isn't convenient, so gives me his name & number and I say will call him. He does give me his name & number, but I didn't call back the next day, before noon. He calls the day after a starts this all up again with my husband....
