This is a company that is a prepaid collect calling company.  If you have someone that calls you collect you can set up a pre-paid calling account.  It is used by the Washington State Department of Corrections.

i got a call moments ago saying "Kimberly" an inmate at Washington State Department of Corrections was calling, and the automated message asked if I wanted to set up a collect call account.  Called back and got busy signal

I had just got a call from this number moments ago but, I did not answer it.

The number appeared on my TV 3 times before I realized that it could be my friend trying to contact me.  When I picked up, the message said that it was a collect call from a corr facility but   my account had a zero balance. I put 50 dollors into the account.  About a half hour later my friend's call came through.  I still don't know the name of the company, but the 50 came out of my account immediately.

It is a new pre-pay phone company, because GTL no longer services some of the NYS DOCs (including Mid-State).  I guess I'll find out from the facility tomorrow who the new phone company is.  Otherwise, set up a new account when he tries calling again.  Hope this info helps.

I got a call from "Bill" at the WA state correctional Facility, pretty sure it's no one I know. I'm thinking it's a scam.

The company is Vaule Added Communication. They are taking over for Global Tel for the NYS PRISON SYSTEM.  I would not reccomend setting up an acount over the phone though, as my account was charged twice but you can go through their website at www.myvconnect.com to set up an account and make a deposit. Whatever money you deposit, will be withdrawn immediately from your bank.  You can also call 1-800-786-8521 to talk to one of their customer service representative to set up an account. It is from a correctional facility.  Some guys just dial random numbers so they can talk to anyone that will listen.  They need outside conversation.

I received a call from this number asking for a collect call. Told them I don't accept collect calls and I didn't know the person who was calling. The name was said so low I am not shure what the callers name was.

Is this used ONLY by the state of Washington?
