- Mike| 3 repliesThe female who called claimed to be Teresa calling from Presbyterian Hospital Dallas. She was lying and I have already confirmed this.
- telephone user| 2 repliesThey called and left a message. I didn't listen to it because I googled the number and found this site and a GOOGLE match to something about some consulting firm. From reading the comments here, it's a company about hospital bills? I haven't been to the hospital in 30 years. I haven't been to the doctor in 8 years. I already have medical insurance and I haven't had to use it!! WHY are they calling me?
- Call type: Telemarketer
- ACBI would like to know how they get information that someone in my house has been in the hospital since medical records are not public knowledge. They are asking for you to call back regarding a recent hospital stay and saying the whole bill can be covered if we qualify.

- SylWoman called to speak to my husband to see if he had government eligibility in relation to a hospital admission he had 1-1/2 years ago. He was not available. I told her I knew about his hospitalization. She said the information was confidential and she could not speak to me. She gave me an 800 number for him to return her call. She said her company name was ECI. On the phone caller ID, it listed Eligibility Con, 972-705-5291.

- AmusedCalled, didn't leave a message. If it's the ECI outfit from the 2011 post above, then good luck to you, folks! I haven't been to a hospital in over 10 years, and it was covered by the insurance I had at the time, sans the deductible I paid long ago. Getting money *back* from a hospital or insurance company long after-the-fact is virtually impossible.
- STOP FKN BOTHERING PEOPLE replies to ZapAllZombies| 1 replyWell you get in my fkn nerves
- S. replies to Mike| 2 repliesThis company is NOT a fraud! If in doubt, you can call the hospital's Financial Counselor Office to verify that the hospital contracts ECI to screen patients ON BEHALF OF THE HOSPITALS. There are on-site workers at many area hospitals, and also screeners off-site in their main office. Many patients aren't aware that hospitals provide this service.
When a patient is Self Pay, the hospital refers the ER or Inpatient account to ECI. ECI calls/mails to see if maybe there was insurance that maybe wasn't obtained while at the hospital, or maybe there is other funding the patients are eligible for, and will assist to pursue the options.
The hospital is trying to find ways to help get the bill paid, either thru programs, or in some cases, an additional hospital discount if eligible. Many patients never obtain any assistance because they don't follow through with returning the call, or following through with the application process, so the bills go thru normal billing process. - S replies to telephone userThe phone number may have not been correctly updated on a hospital account, and therefore you were incorrectly called. Sometimes this happens. When this happens, they remove the number.
- AnnoyedI received a recorded message from this company asking if "you or anyone in your house has recently been in the hospital". I reported it for Do Not Call List and HIPAA violations.

- ChamarkThis unsolicited call was from Eligibility Consultants, Inc.@ 972-705-5291 - Called to speak to Manager (David Hyatt) and went to voice mail. Left message to remove my number from their list. Will give them one opportunity to do so. - Janet replies to S.I believe you are right. I asked to be billed as a private payer because the hospital service rendered falls under "pre-exisiting condition" & my insurance won't pay it. When the caller found out I do have insurance, she thanked me politely & hung up.
- just a guy replies to telephone userapparently someone is using your information you might wanna check. it is legitimate business i just got the call myself and i was in the hospital, and they told me they would be calling for assistance due to lack of insurance. If i was you i would waste my energyon trying to find out who used your info before you have bad credit.
- Amy replies to STOP FKN BOTHERING PEOPLEThen don't apply for government assistance.
People are so dumb. - CardDropperWhat I have learned about this business is - I will never do business with them.
I missed a call from 972-705-5196 (according to Caller ID). They left a message saying it was a courtesy call to inform me that they have not received all of the documentation necessary to process my application. And, I should call my representative at 972-705-5291. This was a trick (unethical) to try to get my attention (the 1st step in most sales processes).
After reading info about the company online (here and their website), I suspect they are fishing for prospects (or suspects). I wouldn't doubt that they have purchased (or otherwise obtained) a list of people that meet certain criteria (I recently turned 65) and they are cold-calling these people and leaving erroneous messages on their voicemail(s) to try to start a dialogue with people they think they can manipulate. They already broke at least 2 Federal laws (Robocall to a number on the Do Not Call list). I think I'll pass on calling them back.
This is from their website (http://www.ecidallas.com/service.html):
"We educate patients about the eligibility programs. Most of the patients’ we interview are not aware of the financial assistance that is available to them."
"We assist patients in acquiring needed documents for the eligibility process"

- S replies to S.Well, when they call it would be advised to tell you who they are, rather than just having an automated voice tell me to wait. I'm at work, I don't have time to sit on my phone.
