- anon replies to Pat| 1 replyLady named DEe claimed if she filed a paper from the court I would be arrested and not in lawful possession of my car as if it would be a stolen car. She said call was being recorded
- sophya replies to anonwhat else happened after you called them? ....I just got a note from them
- sophya replies to VLSDid u got to find out what was it about and if they were legit?
- StephGot a paper in the door from them "Important Investigation Final Notice - Contact Immediately SRS Legal Division" No name just my Apt #. I get solicitation material all the time (menus, religious groups, cable deals, etc) and after check the number on here, I wrote it off as a scam and did not call.
Last night at 2 AM, two men pounded on my door for a half an hour until me and my bf woke up. BF yelled who is it and one of the guys said "could you open the door" and he said "no, who is it" to which the guy replied "Investigators" My bf opened the door slightly and the guys had some sort of badges around their neck. They asked what my bf's name is and he said "who are u looking for." They wanted a Chris, my bf said nobody lives here by that name, I yelled from the living room, "close the door its a scam" and the guy was like "WHO IS THAT?!" I came to the door and said "what the F kind of investigators come to the door at 2am and don't identify themselves...this is ridiculous close the door" as the door was being closed in the guy's face he was like "uhhh really?" They left but were trying to shine flashlights into my condo as the walked around the building.
I called the local police who informed me that they were Repo people. I asked them if it legal to do what they did...not identify themselves, not say what the wanted and harrass people in the middle of the night. The officer told me yes, the last known address for this person was mine (I've lived here for 3 years) and that he would tell them not to come back.
They were driving in a black pick up with a trailer attached. I guess they mean business about taking back cars but they suck at "investigating" - Marie| 1 replyI didn't get a call I just came out of my house and found three notes on my mailbox..
Well after I stressed for about 3 hrs, i finally got a hold of these people and found out they are a repo company for automobiles. I also found out that they can come to your house at anytime. I own a 3 family house, they were actually looking for one of my tenants whom had moved out 5 months ago. They really need to investigate a little more before going to just anyone's house. - Dawn replies to MarieI was awaken by a loud deisel engine on a hitch pick up. My bedroom is in the front of the house and windows were open. I look out and see a guy with a flashlight come over to my door. He leaves a notice in my door with this company name on it and phone number. "investigations bureau". I have NO ISSUES with anyone or anything regarding debt, credit card bills or auto problems. I am a very responsible person so this is some kind of hoax of which I am filing a complaint with the police until this is exposed. I could hardly get back to sleep and am exhausted this morning. NOT going to get away with this if I can help it!!!!
- Debt-FreeI received a referral card in my mailbox and had a visit from this company. Yes, it was late at night but I understand that this is their job, ladies and gentlemen. They are given addresses by banks and companies. The only way they can verify them is too make contact. Unfortunately, these guys work nights because that is when people are home. I explained to the man that the guy he was looking for moved out several months ago, he was very nice and respectable. He even apologized for disturbing me and gave me a card with the number on it. I called it the next day to explain the same this. The women who I spoke with, maybe the Dee from above, was courteous and pleasant. I have no problems with this company.
Give it a rest. They are after people who don't pay their car payments. They need to find them so that they can pay their own bills.
At least they are not telemarketers. They serve a valuable service.- Caller: SRS

- leaseThanks for the info. from previous posts. I been driving my car for 2 years and now I'm getting people waking me up at 1am. They are Definitely REPO guys so hide your car and don't answer the door. They will stalk you so always watch your mirrors and don't keep anything valuable in your car. I did not call the # but I know they will be back. P.S. having a dog helps too.

- RavenI got a bright yellow notice on my door and wondered what an investigation Bureau wanted from me and why they had not called me? When I called they said, "oh, we got that guy a few days ago" when did you get that notice? I said what guy, as I live alone and I am female. When I questioned her further she said your address was the last known address for this guy...I said really...I have been here 5 years...she said well his last known phone number was at your address. So, as I asked to speak to a supervisor she said she was "ending this phone call"...I called back and asked immediately for a supervisor. To put it bluntly, they are lazy investigators. In this age of computers how could they not know that this person never lived here and that the person living here, me is not this person. I find this harassment and I am filing a complaint with my local police department. If they had come to my house at 3AM banging on my door, I would have met them with my shot gun...I don't fool around...and I won't be victimized by people like this.

- PoniSame thing happened to us yesterday...but we just found the card today in our wreath on our front door -- had a case number and the name Spade on it. I was busy, so I didn't answer the door (I rarely do). What I'm trying to figure out is why they'd even be targeting us! I'm assuming they're debt collectors from the previous posts. We have an old used car (1989) that we paid for in cash...and have the title and all that (people we bought it from live right up the street...and it's all legit). I'm wondering if someone didn't use our address or phone for their car or whatever they're after. We had been getting calls from Home Depot and a couple of other places over the past year that some guy named Jim had incurred. Nobody by that name ever even lived here! This is CRAZY! Figure we'll give them a call tomorrow since they're obviously closed on a Sunday.

- nicolei got a business card from this place, but it's a different number. i dont know what they want, but i dont think they are looking for my boyfriend or myself considering both of our cars were paid for the day they were bought. makes no sense.... no name, just our apartment number and what looks like case names and numbers, reference numbers... theres a number to call but no one to ask for... they better not start showing up here at 2 am.

- SRS noticeThey are the "Legal Representation" aka Debt Collectors for the previous tenants - if you have no payment outstanding you have nothing to worry; Call them back, tell them how long you've been living there and they will say thank you and move on...or so they said when I called; If you have outstanding payments and they are indeed looking for you - then pay your bills and you won't see the notice;
