rtviper - 25 Dec 2007I received this call on Christmas from my son who is stationed in Iraq. I was leary about answering when the ID showed IDT Corp., but I answered it anyway and it was my son. I'm not saying that anyone should answer when this number shows in the ID, but if you have someone in service overseas, it just might be them calling home. I hope this will help.

Ann - 8 Jan 2008Yeah, my son called from Iraq using this number on January 5. I usually ignore calls from area codes I don't recognize, but that has changed since he deployed.

WORRIED DAD - 1 May 2008My son just called today from this same number, my son couldn't say where in Iraq he is, do you know what city in Iraq this number is from.
I would appreciate any information you may have. At least when I know what city he is in I can look the city up on the map and get any information as what is going on.

that certain phone number has been used by MANY a sons and daughters.. for its a land line in baghdad in iraq.. there are 7 main fobs in baghdad alone..
as yall know there are time limits and restrictions.. dont try calling that number back.. your sons and daughters love you and miss you very much! just be warned that you need to answer all calls now =]
i have a good handful of loved ones as well over seas.. and just coming back...

Scorpion - 31 Jan 2008I received a call from this number last night but I didn't answer because I didn't recognize the area code. The caller ID only read " Name Unknown" followed by the number. The caller left a VM and to my surprise it was my friend Phil calling from Iraq. He called me again a few minutes later. It was great to hear from him. It's hard to know that he is overseas and putting his life on the line for all of us. Bless our troops. I think I'll be answering future calls from this area code from now on ;)

First Lady Patti - 5 Feb 2008Yes, this is a call from Iraq. Our daughter is stationed there from Ft Polk since 12/1/07 so if you get calls from this number please answer it and from any other number that starts with 199!! They have only a short 20 minutes in which to make calls and each one is so very important to them. Plus you never know when in the middle of your call they cut the communications lines when there are casualties there...no news in - no news out. So talk quick and make the first minutes count!! We do!! God bless our troops in Jesus name!
