This number belongs to a calling card company. I've had many calls from this number with no one on the other end, finally I picked up, and it was my friend calling from overseas. Caller ID shows "Unknown".
I just had this number 973-482-3624 call my phone at 11:21 PM Western (pacific time. I did not answer the phone but if this is a scam artist someone needs to stop this!!
i have been talking to a man over in nigeria for months with a nigera number but this time it rang up as the number you mention and he told me he use a calling card
My Caller I.D. says this is from "Satellite T.V." I don't know if the Nigerian guy is connected somehow or not. Have any of you had a satellite dish installed recently or perhaps serviced? Maybe your satellite account was discussed with Customer Service recently. I'll bet that the Cust. Serv. Rep is stealing your number for telemarketing purposes.(or worse!)
What is the name of the man that you were speaking to? My friend is also in Nigeria....................Just met him last week. I hope not the same person
You call someone a friend who you just met last week?!?!? No offense honey but get a life! Especially someone from Nigeria, the scam capital, of the world!! Know someone for a long while before you call them a friend and you won't get ripped off so eaasily. Anyone, especially Nigerian, should be checked out thoroughly before ever getting anything in the way of info about you personally, if even then.
i keep geting calls from this number evry week. whats the way to stop this idiots from stealing our personal information. how safe are we ??? what more ???
It is a scam.......You might get a text message from a girl too...She looks for men on single dating sites around the country and befriends them for money.....Says she is single and looking to date in your area...Be careful and do NOT give up any information to her...
I got a call from this number the other day, someone looking for something but would not describe what type of object it was. After spending about 1Hr and 30Mins trying to understand what it was this person was looking for. I kept trying to calm them down but all they kept asking was "i need to find it!!" "where is it?" i thought to myself, good luck trying to find "it" Sigh, well i was just wondering If anyone else got this call, is it a scam or do i really need to help this person find their lost object? After reading these posts, i convinced myself this may be a scam, but I still decided to contact the police showing my concern to help this caller finding "it." My friend Stanky said i was crazy for doing this but i was just trying to help them out!
Hey Allen do you remember the girls name or what country she said she is from? I had contact from a Indonesia woman. Please if you have anykind of info that might help me. thank you,
I also received this number as a missed call. Then found out the missed call was a family memeber using a calling card. I feel this is a calling card number used by people everywhere/anywhere. Just thought this might bring comfort to someone scared of prank calls or threats. Thanks.
Dude, if you think someone is a terrorist because of an accent, get yourself an education and assume that what your inbread parents and government force fed you as a child and adult was a load of hate propaganda, O.K.?
This is a scam. Nigerians try to make "friends" with Americans so they can place orders using STOLEN credit cards & send to an American address. They then request you to send the merchandise to them in Nigera because if caught, you take the fall for it. Beware!
I bougt a calling card for my sister so she could call the US from Italy. This is the # that showes up when she calls my cell. If a scam artist bought a calling card and is calling you on it that is why the # would show up; but not ever time this # calls ever person it it a scam or prank call. The scammers and prankers are just getting more creative so you can not trace anything back to them. Anyway, someone you might actually know might be trying to call you if this # shows up...
Your right it is a calling card company assigned to a multiplex outbound. So my girlfriened is in Russia. Yesterday she emailed saying when she would be in Moscow and to expect her call. I thought she would have used SKYPE, but she emailed again saying she had a International calling card so expect the call. This number here showed up. So I reversed looked up the number to the service and it is true calling card company. Now that means both good and bad people are using a public purchased card so untraceable. So if you answer the phone & if you have someone overseas, they might just need you! If just as in any case someone asks for personal information you NEVER GIVE IT OUT...
I have a net2phone on the internet, I can call my cell phone with it and it want leave this number on the phone, but it will be on my telephone bill as (9734823624)
HAD A RUDE FORIEGNER CALL FROM THAT NUMBER 9/10/08, LOOKING FOR BRIAN BRANUM, ADV NO ONE WORKS HERE BY THAT NAME FOR THE LAST 5 YEARS AND CONTINUED TO ASK ME IF I "EVERY "F" A LADY" CALLED ME A "BAS" SEVERAL TIMES. I ENDED THE CALL, GRATED THAT WHEN HE DID WORK HERE WE WOULD GET COLLETION CALLS FOR HIM ALL THE TIME THUS WE FIRED HIM, IF ANYONE AS ANY INFORMATION AS TO WHAT COMPANY USES THOSE KINDS OF PRACTICES PLEASE REPLY, IT WILL HELP ME REPORT COMPANY AND FINE THEM. THIS IS AN ILLEGAL PRACTICE AND WILL BE STOPPED!!!
Yeah, this is just a number used by a calling card company. It can be a call from anyone....a friend overseas in Iraq, a scam artist, etc. If the line is available, the calling card company will use it. So if it's someone selling someone one day, it could be a friend the next day.
I get emails from people in nigeria all the time. .. last night at 8:10 pm i had a missed call from this number and i tried to return the call and it is disconnected... wow what an a**hole
Guys, this number seems to be a calling card number. Anybody who has posted this as so below seems to be correct. My friends called my from overseas, and this number showed up on my phone. So, if you are seeing this number pop up too, just think to yourself if you may have a friend or family member trying to contact you from overseas. If not don't answer then it probably may be a scammer trying to call you.
This comes up for net2phone.com calls made from the computer. I just tested it from my net2phone account to my own cell with TRAPCALL. net2phone is a good calling a fax service I have used since 2000 before the world of skype, etc. I use it as a calling card from landline and cell, PLUS computer calls to landlines and cells overseas. I keep the service yet because it also FAXES out.
net2phone has never cost anyone I have called from here, Europe or Japan when I have lived there.
HOWEVER, this number may not be limited to just net2phone??? So my input may only be one piece of the puzzle here.
Good luck
fyi, take a look at the new service TRAPCALL.COM just added it free tonight and that is why I was testing my own internet call to my cell
I used whitepages.com and 973-482-3624 showed it belonged to some guy in Mission, Texas. It was used by a guy with a Canadian accent claiming he was from Glenwood Lending Group in Missouri. Hw wanted me to use a money gram to wire my loan down payment to Milton, Manitoba. It would make sense that it is a calling card number.
This same thing happened to my husband and his boss and we can't do anything about it. My husband wishes he could get his hands on this guy that scammed them.
