Googled it and it seems to be a mobile number from India.  And you just know that can't be good.

Caller ID says Fitchburg MA, automated message said they were calling regarding an electric rate reduction.

Electric bill reduction...sure... Scam! perfect English, no accent...

Okay only in past two weeks I've started getting these calls. Today it was this number (978) 400-2559. Why all of a sudden when I never provide cell number???? Could they be tracing because I posted this message through ip or such? Since I did post a reply here, I have received every day from other numbers. I also reported to live person federal and cell Company. I  don't ever use cell for accounts, banks, credit or any contact just friends and family. Maybe this sight or coincidence. I am so angry now. Sister very ill and each call is worrisome, I don't need this. I'm now going to locate each and do best to shut their numbers off. Our government is making it too easy  for the wrong people to get our data. I won't answer just in case, they can gather too much from my number alone!  Washington needs to STOP fighting like children in public against our friends/allies, YOU need to STOP  the people scamming  myself, my mother, father, grand parents, neighbors and fellow US citizens who pay taxes for this service and protection- and yes my daughter too was scammed of  her hard earned cash at 16. I am angry I am being forced to  support the same ones who steal my money, threaten my family frequently, we don't know what else, just open our arms wide and pockets too, we don't need to know where your from or going to or why, we dont want to hurt feelings and dont believe Isis is not a threat. We need to help our own friends families and neighbors who HELP the US and citizens every day. I NEED to be worried about these calls and scammers, everyone I know has been scammed through technology, how hard can it be to shut down their phone?

utility discount recorded message coming from several MA area codes that I am forced to block daily yet another one comes up. seriously, why sign the do not call list if they sell the numbers to everyone? I refuse to try to get a person in case they reverse charges like scammers did in the past. so I am posting complaints! oddly they aren't even calling from MY current residing state but rather my cell ph based state. so I live several states away yet they are somehow cold calling random ppl???

The idea that the 'Do not call list' sells your number is an urban myth & the stuff of closets lined with tin foil. If you are on the Do not call list you will not get calls from honest business'. Please read the last line again. So if you get a telemarketing call, WHAT type of business is calling you? You can have a hint: criminals. Criminals trying to steal personal or financial information. Invest in call blocking. Either land line device, or cell phone app.

Called us TWICE within the SAME MINUTE on 2/23/15.  We were not at home.  Good to know this is another "Electric Rate Reduction" SCAM.  Just like they are going to lower our credit card interest rates, too, right?

Received call on my cell phone. Didn't pick up, they left no voice mail. Called the number from my home phone (number is blocked) got this message "thank you for calling, if you would like to be placed on the do not call list of the number that called you, press 1 now". I didn't press anything, thinking I would get the option of speaking with someone. The same message repeated itself 4 times. I know that if you press 1, they will know it is an active number and will continue to call. So I just hung up the phone. No company was identified. Adding this number to my reject list on my cell phone and my call blocker on my home phone.

I just received this call and it will be the last.
I have a 1200 number + 10 area code call blocker.
The number will be listed on call blocker if it does try to call in the future.

And Ebola too! Damn these scammers!

Caller Id read "Energy Service"   I rec'd the call on my land-line.  The are code is for Massachusetts and the office code 400 is for the town of Fitchburg.  I did not pick up and no message was left.

The numbers keep coming from different area codes but the same thing.  Has anyone stayed on the line long enough to know what they are calling about?

Got 3 calls in a row from this number today while I was out, each of which left an empty voice message. Caller ID said ENERGY SERVICE.
When I tried to call back, a message kept saying 'press 1 if you want to be placed on our do not call list'.
I am blocking this number ASAP.
