We got a call from this number today at 2:49 pm and didn't answer. The caller ID was UNKNOWN NAME. When I called back (our caller ID is blocked by default on outgoing calls) the phone didn't even ring, so there was no answer. This is obviously a scam of some type. The number will be added to our call blocker.

Got a call today they asked if I wanted a discount on my National Grid bill they wanted my account number. They are not from National Grid. Caller ID said Beverly, MA

I received a call today (10/29/14) from this number (978 867-7856)  and Beverly MA appearing on caller ID. No one responded when I answered the phone. A call back to the number produced a beeping sound (like fast busy signal) and no ring.

Probably a call center.  Veridian Energy sent out cards to state they can lower electric payment.  They are a third party seller.
Got the call today and no message.

Caller ID said Beverly, MA.  Multiple calls, no messages.

Got the same call.  When I called the number back, I got the same thing......the sound of an open line then a quick busy signal.  I got several calls the other day from a different number.  When I called it back, the man who answered (John) said he owns a furniture business and he had his phone on him all day. He asked to please contact him again if I received anymore calls from his number.  Weird things happening !!!

Received calls on 11-6-14 (today) at 10am and 11-3-14 (Monday) at 6pm. Call id said Beverly,MA. Nobody answered when I picked up.
When I called back I got a busy signal (rapid beeping).

Ive gotten 3 calls from this number over the last week. Each time being between midnight and 4 am. Ive answered each time and it simply hangs up right afterwards. Ive called back and got the same beeping sound that others have gotten.

Does everyone else here live in MA?

Caller ID said out of area. Did not pick up & no message was left on machine. Oh, & I'm on the DNC list.

Got my call about 8:30 pm. Don't recognize the number....automatically hit button on call blocker. Had this thing since May, have an estimated 50-60 numbers in it and it still works great. Getting to the point that I'm going to just enter area codes since several calls come in with the same code.

Had this call for a bit - for sure phishing - blocked them.

I got a voice mail from this # 978-867-7856 the woman left a message saying yes the message is I am  going  to get that money and started laughing.

Same thing here; ID said Beverly, MA, but no one spoke when I answered.

Claimed to be calling "from NStar about [my] electric bill. I don't have NStar. When I said this, "Todd" apologized for the inconvenience. I apparently threw him for a loop. But I see here that the calls also claim to be from other electric companies, so clearly, this couldn't have come from NStar. Sounds fishy to me!

I got a call from them at 9:30 am. They left a muffled message saying something unintelligible and then "we gotta make it work" and I could hear a lot of people shuffling around in the background. Caller ID said it was from Beverly, MA.

Just got a call from 978-867-7856. Female promised me a rate reduction on nstar bill. I laughed and said  It was so nice for nstar to single me out. She hung up.

This telemarketer calls often, never leaves a message, and return calls made to this number never go through.

Trying to trick you into changing your energy supplier from NStar to these shady folks. Their script walks the line of dishonesty as they try to trick you into giving them your NStar account number to 'confirm' your 'rate reduction' while trying to make you THINK they really are from NStar without quite lying outright.
These companies are infamous for lowering your generation charge a tad for a month or two and then punching it through the roof without any notice until you catch them and switch back but by then you already owe them a whopping bill or two and you are screwed. DON'T FALL FOR IT!!!
