Young man (whose native language appeared to be English) called from a company called "National Energy."

The person asks to speak with the "person in charge of the National Grid electric bill" and then explains that you were overcharged on your electric bill.  Then, the person wants to send a rebate check after verifying your information.  I didn't get to hear what info the person wanted to verify as I was not the person they thought I was.  When I told him I was not that person, he hung up without any further information.

This person has called 3 times in the past 2 days - once yesterday where I said i was not in charge of the bill and they promptly hung up without any further communication, once today where I did not answer and they did not leave a message, and again today when I answered and said I was in charge of the bill.

This sounds like a scam.

i got the same tpye of call that anonymous got, from Lawerence, ma, and they also hung up. i called the electric compamy and i was told to google the #. i too think it is a scam. SO BECAREFUL. i called the # and was told that the # wasn't a working #.....

This phone number calls all the time and all  it says is Lawrence, Ma in the caller i.d. with no message. PLEASE STOP THIS PERSON

They called me yesterday and today after I told them to stop calling...sounds like a scam to me.

I just got a call from this number 5 minutes ago, but it came up as unknown on my called ID. They left no message. This is not the first time either. This is why I ended up here, to see if anyone else was getting calls from this number.

This is a known scam. I work for the local newspaper and these people are identity thieves. Do not provide them any info, they are not with National Grid. I get at least 5 calls from these people every day.

The phone calls started about 3 weeks ago. They have been all day and every day, sometimes several times a day. So three days ago I decided to try something when they called me like I knew they would, I answered the phone and told them the call was being traced and recorded by the local police department. Well funny how they have not called me since.  If this is a scam and I believe that it is this surely will scare them away. Also National Grid told me if they owe a customer money they do not send out rebate checks they give the customer credit on their bill.  I hope this has help someone out there who maybe getting the same phone calls.

They keep calling but when you call them no answer

My mother almost fell for this. She couldn't find the bill info they were asking for thankfully so they didn't get her info. I just warned her about it. I mean what sort of company goes out of their way to send you a check for over-paying, leaves no messages and calls by "Unknown".

Hi, this number have been appearing in my phone line and without no messages.  I don't know them and it says Lawerence, Ma.

I am just checking them out, but no address found.

I provided what they need and now i realized that i made a big mistake.  What could be the consequence..

I keep receiving calls from this number. My husband was the first to field a call from this number. I'm not sure if he gave our info out or not. I do remember him mentioning something about them wanting to save us money on our national grid bill though. After reading the other comments, I'm really hoping that he didn't give them any info. I have let it go to voice mail every time they've called while I'm home. No one leaves a message. It comes up on the Call ID as Lawrence, MA.

I have been getting calls from this number everday at least twice! Infamous for sceening my calls I googled the number. All I can say is thanks for the heads up this is a scam no doubt.

Calls everyday including holidays

Claiming the're National Grid. Poor english skills. About some rebate program. If NG really owed us, they would post a credit to the customer's account. NG isn't doing a rebate program, (I called and checked). These calls are illogical even if they were real; why would you hire a call center to call customers to claim a rebate, when account credits are one hundred times easier? Do not give these people any information!

Getting calls from this number all the time!  How do you make it stop?

This person has called  me over 50 times in the past 3 weeks - it is absolutely ridiculous!!!  How can we get them to stop??

I am getting calls from this number dozens of times a week.There is no end to these calls,even on weekends!Its gone well beyond,very annoying!I called it back and it gives you the option of putting in your number to have it removed from their call list(done so several times)to no avail.Only other option is to block that number,I guess..
