Annoying no message

Got a call around 7:15 pm on my cell phone.  Caller ID said Lawrence Ma.  I didn't answer it. They did not leave a message. Other people on another website said they rec'd calls from this number...some scam about lowering your electric bill...need to give your credit card number.  I blocked the number.  Got a similar type of call a few days ago, according to a different website it seemed to be the same caller?...they must be using several different numbers.

978-965-8961 Called at 11:11 am in perfect English and clear recorded message that this is in regards of my electric bill... Yeah sure... Scam!!!

Received call from this number about 10 minutes ago on my cell phone. They did not leave a message.  I also received a call last week on my cell (different phone number than above) from someone claiming to be from the IRS. I feel it necessary to let people know that the IRS will never call.  The IRS always sends correspondents through the mail.  If anyone calls claiming they are from the IRS it is a scam looking for information.

I can't believe these jerks call this late - they just called my landline at 8:30p and hung up on my answering machine..I'm seeing here that they are scammers pretending to be from IRS... like anyone would believe that at 8;30pm on a Friday night.  Idiots.

8:45pm. Got two calls from them one right after another. Left no message.

They called at lunch time - recorded message about lowering electricity rates.  I hung up before they got any further than that.

2 calls around 1 PM, one after the other; CallerIDs:Lawrence MA; Left no msg. Maybe I have the "honor" of being on their Potential Suckers List twice.

2 calls on land line, one right after the other. Caller waits until machine picks up but doesn't leave a message.

Received call for this # about 20 min ago,2 times,5min apart for each , not messages; caller IDs Lawrence MA.

Just saw this pop up on my caller ID. Since I don't know anyone in Lawrence it earned a push of the 'Block Now' button on my call blocker.

I installed the call blocker last week as we were getting a dozen or more scam calls per day and I was fed up with the BS. Apparently the phone companies are a powerful lobby in DC as the government doesn't do anything to stop scams and con artists ripping people off via phone, it only gets worse and worse.

My phone has been blissfully silent since I added the blocker, the few that do get through using a spoofed caller ID get the honor of taking one of the slots in the blocker memory. I wonder how long it's going to take to fill the 1000 available slots?

And while I was typing another call pops up with a Rhode Island #, also earning a blocked slot. They sure are persistent BAS***DS and apparently can change the spoofed number quickly and easily. Since I work out of my home office it's become like a game of whack a mole between me and them, I just keep hitting the button and maybe eventually they'll get the message I'm never going to answer.

Received calls from this number twice within a span of a few minutes just before 8pm today - once with caller ID Lawrence MA and once with the number itself as the caller ID.  No message was left on the answering machine either time.

With a VOIP PBX you can change the caller ID in less then 30 swc

Called about my electric bill, and threw in some bogus claim related to the American Reinvestment & Recovery Act. I don't actually have an electric bill, so clearly some sort of scam.

Yes, just received a call from this number. Calling about my Electric rate, didn't bother to listen to the whole message.... most likely a scam.
