- Ms. T| 2 repliesReceived a voice message for MY DAUGHTER. Caller identified himself as John Bannister, Special Investigator. Claims she or her attorney should call him back at 980-939-0921 regarding a complaint that was filed against her with the possibility of a restraining order being issued AFTER an OSC (Order to Show Cause) hearing. Of course I know this is bull. If a complaint was filed, the complainant would have had to serve my daughter. Besides, neither of us are not in the 980 area code (wherever that is!)
- Caller: No Name
- SSGot a call from John Bannister, special investigator, said I made some kind of malicious intent to defraud and a potential restraining order. I have never been to North Carolina nor lived there. Wouldnt say what the company name was so how do I know what to do???
- Caller: None given
- SS replies to Ms. TDo you have any idea what company they are calling for? I am over these people.
- Pissed offI just got a call from a Mr. John Bannister at my place of employment. I returned his call and he said that I was in some type of legal issue. However, he would not state what that was. So then I told him off and demanded that I speak to his manager and he said he would not want to talk to me. He would not specify an address nor officeline that I could have either. He insulted me and then told me to sit back like a little lady and wait for paperwork and they will be on property to see me.
Is he crazy? It is a scam without a doubt! - WilmaI too received a call from Mr. John Bannister. Mr. Bannister works for a debt collection company and they are trying to collect on payday loans. Mr. Bannister is using legal terms like restraining order, malicious intent to defraud, civil complaint, etc to scare you. First off a retraining order will not be issued against you because you did not pay your debt. Also, if a civil complaint is being filed against you for malicious intent, believe me they are not going to call you ahead of time. The fact that they will not provide you with the name of the company is also a sign that this company is practing illegal collection methods. From the language that Mr. Bannister is using, it sounds to me that he is a representative from PFC and they have changed their phone number yet again to try to decive you and start the scare tactics yet again. You should file a complaint with the Attorney General of your State and also file a complaint with the FTC (Fair Trade Commission). These guys are bad news. From my previous research they use harassment and embarssment to shame you into paying old debts. They call you at every number they have for you and especially love calling your employer. They will never provide you with an address or a fax number because then you can ask them legally to provide proof of the original debt and the amount owed. Remember, unless they provide proof of the debt, you do not have to pay. I caution you no matter what, do not pay them any money and do not acknowledge that you have a debt. If you ignore them long enough they will leave you alone and sell your debt to yet another company who specializes in collecting uncollectable debts. If they have a legitimate debt they will mail you something. These guys break so many laws in their collection efforts and need to be put our of business. File your complaints so this can happen.

There are many issue in volved, but these guys refuse to take payments....the bank will not deal with me directly...and I have been harrassed to the max...3 - 5 phone calls some days and even weekends. They have called co workers, spoken to my wife and stepdaughter and repeatedly misrepresented themselves as "The Royal Bank"...they will not communicate by mail, and will not accept payments. - 4my4kidsI just received a call from a Mr. Banks saying that he was a specialty investigator. He was supposedly looking for my mother saying that she is a "possible" identity theft victim. I asked what made him think she may be a victim and he said that all he knew was that a file was on his desk with her name on a victim list. As a true victim myself...and with all of his "possibilites" I knew something was wrong. Plus, where would I be listed as an emergency contact for something like identity theft. So, I looked up the number and was happy to see the warnings. I passed the warning to my mother not to call them back. It is probably regarding payday loans that she already paid off. They claim she still owes them hundreds of dollars. This company needs to learn to lie a little better.
- real bill collectorDO NOT PAY THIS COMPANY!!!!!! NO MATTER WHAT THEY SAY CALL THE CLIENT AND THEY WILL REFER YOU TO THE RIGHT COMPANY! IF YOU PAY THEM YOU WILL STILL OWE THE MONEY. SO IF YOU PAY THEM ITS YOUR FAULT NOT OURS AND WE WILL STILL COME AFTER YOU FOR THE BALANCE...
*********DO NOT PAY THEM********* - confused replies to Ms. TIf this is such a big scam why has no one contacted the authorities? and if they did wat r they doin about this?
- JenniferReceived a call from this number. They did not leave a message. No one knows my private home phone number except for 3 family members. No company has my phone number. No employer or friends have ever had this phone number, either. I have never had a payday loan before. This Mr. Bannister person, if that's who called, has no reason to call me. I'm reporting this to donotcall.gov because my private number's been on the do not call list for 8 months that I've had this phone number.
- beamerMy employer was contacted a by Steven Fox, He left a very detailed message just like a lot of the messages that I have read here. But they had asked for me with my maiden name. I have been using my married name for over 10 years. Thanks for all the postings.
- JaddiOMG! I'm freaking out!! This Mr. Steven Fox just left me a message on my phone saying he was an investigator and i was listed as the 'respondent' for a restraining order!! Then left the number he was calling from. He acted as though he couldn't find the number. Then told me that my attorney (as if i had one!) or I had between 24 and 48 hours to show intent for this. I'm confused!! I just moved to NC recently. I barely know anyone, let alone someone who would file a restraining order against me!! I'm new to my job, and money is SO tight for me!! I really can't handle having to pay an attorney to deal with this. I don't know what to do. Does anyone have any suggestions? HELP!!
- unknown| 1 replyjust ingore these liars they just try to scare you i found this number is actually a cell phone, also when you start asking detail question about the affaviadate number or what city this was filled with they always change the subject and the computers down, plus they want you to pay with check over phone or person to person money gram dont do it, they just try to scare people, they give me a different pay day loan company every time, also if you had a restraining order you could contact you local court house and they would know these people are just stupid ass people that cant get a real job so they steal from people who fall for it

- !!!!!These are not debt collectors, it is nothing but a scam. If you get a call you need to get all the info you can from them and then report it to the FTC. That number is 1-877-FTC-HELP. The more people that report it the better.
- Caller: Allied Legal Services
- UNSUREMr. Steven Fox just called my place of employment using legal terms such as affidavit and restraining order, I work for the court in small claims and know this is not how a collection process works but since I have had payday loans in the past (never again) I was concerned. Is there such a company as Allied Legal Services anywhere that is legitimate? I will not pay anything to them I am just curious if they have used this company name before.

- LAMET replies to janHave you even contacted your student loan lender and even asked them if they turned your account over to a collection agency and which one?

- collectorYeah if this is united legal processing. They have a manger in CA taking western union payments under her real name and adress. Anita is her first name. Ill get the rest of her info later. Never send collectors payments via western or money gram there is no way to track it. If you. Do get info to send western union report that person to AG FTC and other agencies. They are looking for these scamartits to persue legal actions. Dont send them any money.
