989-624-8438

Received a 'Obama announcement' recording when I answered.  After researching the number, it appears the entire block of numbers 989-624-XXXX (equal to 9,999 individual numbers) belongs to the Ameritech exchange in Saginaw, Michigan.  So, when you see area code 989 and the prefix 624, ignore the number.

Got a call from these phone pests but no message.

Constantly receive calls from this number but no messages left and when I try to call the number back it says the number is invalid. Mmmm can we say scam!!!!

My new tactic: Answer the phone but don't say anything.

Robodialers seem to respond to "Hello?" If you don't respond, they don't. This one hung up after 22 seconds of silence. Hopefully they add me to a "This isn't a person" list. (I can dream!)

Humans get confused and start the conversation - and then I tell them all KINDS of things.
* Take me off the list.
* "This is Sergeant xxx, who am I speaking to?" (I used to be military - I can do that if I want!)
* "What are you wearing?"

They just called me at 903AM central time.  Did not answer, no message left

Just got a call from 989-624-8438. An Obama announcement for IRS information. I won't be answering them again. I pay all my taxes and I don't cheat Uncle Sam. Leave me alone!

I got the same message as Phil, above.  I just hung up because I don't have to pay taxes anymore.  I'm on SSDI only and according to Tax advisor, don't need to file anymore due to this.

Rec'd a call from this number. This is the second one today. I get 3-4 calls from random numbers daily. Yes, I have signed up on a do not call list and I still get these calls.

They keep calling . I want them to stop.

The Do Not Call List is a joke! Received calls from this number as well as various telemarketers. I don't owe nothing and I don't want to buy anything!!!! Leave us alone!!!!! I try to track these numbers down but of course you have to spend money to do this now a days! Either which way your stuck with these pests!!!

Just got called by these scam artist.

Got an unwanted call from this number.

Message said they were with the IRS calling about back taxes owed.  Hung up.  The IRS writes letters.

SO now they call your cell phone if you don't answer the land line! Both are on the Do Not Call list. So much for that list! STOP CALLING ME!

Just got a call from this number - no message.   There are a lot of scammers taking advantage of the bad press that the IRS is getting.  This sounds like one of those.  If you get a call about the IRS (or allegedly from the IRS) that sounds suspicious, report it to phishing@irs.gov

Calling about my "back taxes with the IRS" and that they could help me eliminate them.  Took better than 30 seconds before i could "press 7 to be removed from their list".

Get a free app called Avast Security. Everytime I received this kind of call, I added it on the block list. So next time they call me, my phone will not ring. It will only notify me if they left a voicemail.
