This is scam. When I asked where are you located, they hung up. Do not give out any info about yourself or your computer.  No one should call to offer tech support if you did not call for it yourself!

This guy has an East Indian accent and said that his name is Ryan.  He called last night and said that he worked for Microsoft and that we had a bad virus on our computer.  If I would go to my computer, he would guide me step by step to getting rid of the virus.  I did not place any call for technical help on our computer, and told him so.  He said that they (Microsoft) were aware that we had the computer virus and he was trying to help me.  I told him that we didn't need help.  Since last night, there have been 2 more calls from this number today, but no message on the answering machine

Just got a call from "Ryan", with a heavy East Indian accent, he started of that he is calling from Microsoft and that they are getting error alerts from my computer.   I told him I don't think so and this is a scam and if he calls my house again I report him to the FTC.  he said Oh ok and hung up.  I hate these people they are worse then leeches....

I don't answer calls I don't recognize on caller ID, so I let it go to voicemail. It was a hang up call.

Same story here. Guy with a heavy Indian accent (though he wouldn't give me his name) has called multiple times about our "operating system". TROUBLE! Each time I asked him not to call. This last time VERY sternly. We'll see if it works. Definitely a scam.

A female with a heavy Indian accent said there was malware on my computer... I told her "I highly doubt that" and hung up.

This is a scam! Microsoft is not going to randomly call you and tell you your computer is infected. I'm sure most people know that this is a scam although I do worry about them preying on the elderly.  I'm not sure exactly what they're up to but it can't be good.

Mostly same as above.  Call received in early morning.  Female, heavy East Indian accent.  Stated she was from "Windows."  Cranked up computor - not a thing wrong.  Hung up.

Unrecognizable accent. Not Indian or Middle Eastern. He said his name was John and that his company had received complaints about my computer and that he could help. I told him that he had not received any such complaints and hung up. I have received several such calls but this time I was able to get the phone number that appeared in Caller ID.

Got a call 11:15pm last night.  Caller ID showed Michigan and the number.  I only answered because it was so late (didn't want to wake the whole house, might be emergency, etc.)  Didn't say where he was from(not company name) but had India accent and heard other people in background.  Said "the computer has a problem."  Then proceeded to tell me it was causing issues with 2,500 other computers already and needed to get fixed now.  When I kept pushing him for what "the computer" was he thought I didn't have a computer at all.  I just said I didn't have one on right then so it couldn't be an issue.  He then hung up on me.

This guy was Indian and I kept pushing him for information about what virus it was and he gave me an Id number-I asked him what that number was and he said it was the license number for my antivirus or my computer. I said no it wasn't and I asked him what antivirus I had and he said Microsoft or Norton.  I pushed him more and he hung up on me.  I am involved in Cyber Security and I pushed him for information.  That's what I do to telemarketers to get them to stop calling as well.  I am so glad you people are the smart ones that "get it".

Got a call from a jerk with a thick Middle Eastern accent who insisted he knew what type of security system I had on my computer. He kept asking me to fire up my PC because there was a "virus" on it.  I pushed back by asking several questions in order to validate the call. I knew he was a fake and told him he was full of it.  He then called me a "[***]" and hung up on me.

Received a call at almost 11 pm.  First thing I said was why are you calling at this hour?  He said I had a problem with Windows.  I said this is a scam and I don't believe you.  He tried hard to convince me otherwise.  I just said I don't believe you and the line went dead.

Got a call from guy with Indian accent and he rambled on and on rather incomprehensibly about a virus on my computer and that he was with Microsoft.  I didn't give him any time... just hung up.  Obviously a scammer that thinks he'll find a way to get someone to fall for his bull and then do a "Go to My PC" session or something.  I'm sure no one reading this would fall for that, but of course NEVER allow anyone to talk you into doing that unless you have initiated the call.

this is an annoying, late night caller! Not nice to get a call in the middle of the night! I have heard of road rage, but now, if this keeps up, there may be a problem with "phone rage."
