The number show as Arthur R Sawyer, but when I finally answered the phone a women got on and said I'm having problems with my computer. I told her I didn't have one so don't call back - right after that, Navient (Sallie Mae) called the number is 317-550-5602. I really believe it was Navient calling pretending to be computer people. Navient still bothering us even though my daughter is paying her student loan.

These people will not stop calling me! I have tried everything. I don't think they are debt collectors, I don't have any! I think it is just a scam of some sort. They are very rude and don't speak english very well. I would not do what they say!

Indian woman called at 7AM, thought it might be emergency call from kids. Claims it was important she talks with me. Computer has virus. Told her we have top virus protection on computer. She switched story line and now told me I had to worry about hackers. Hung up. If I could block calls on our land line I would.

This is the 2nd time they have called me to say they are getting Error Messages from my computer.  "She" claims to be from Windows Tech Support.com.....I listened to her and then played along and asked which computer?  Playing right along.....I then told her this was my 2nd call within a couple of months....and that I was "on to her" and knew she was a Scammer.  She promptly told me to go F--- Myself and called me ____ & ____...did you get that B----?  
I said sorry I did not hear what you said.....She repeated it......

You can purchase devices that are inserted between the phone and the incoming jack.  Check Amazon for types.
Mine blocks 1200+ calls, 10 area codes, and can even block the calls without proper IDs.  Nice thing about it is you do not hear the ring when they call.

They are scammer's trying to get into your computer and plant a virus and then try to get money from you to fix it.....they have been calling me daily.....

This scam artist called be back again at 3:00 pm California time.  Earlier I call the the local phone company to trap her when she called.  They can't.  Gave me a government fraud number, they can't do anything either.  Everybody is so helpless.  These scammers can operate without impunity.

received two calls from these people, the only reason why i answered was because it said arthur and we have a friend called arthur, needless to say it was not our friend. They said i had a computer problem, that my computer was not connected to the windows server which i know for a fact is BS. Windows is an operating system, it runs off of a hard drive, not a server.....He told me to push windows key + R key (or maybe he said ctrl key, couldn't understand him through is accent) I asked him who he was he said his name was william something or other that he was a windows tech. I told him i didn't know the number and i was going to call comcast to verify that our computer was running fine......complete BS, don't answer the phone or if you do hang up!

I received 5 calls from this number on January 08th. It is a scam. Do not talk to these people. I got calls from a woman and a man both Asian sounding. I tried calling the number back all I got was a busy signal Don't talk to them they are not for real.

The caller ID said Arthur Sawyer, but the person had a foreign accent (Oriental?), and asked for my husband.  When I asked who was calling, they hung up. I had noted the 989 Area Code and name before answering.  Thanks to the other commenters for letting us know that this is a junk phone call.  Time of call was approx. 8:15 am.

Dod you write to your senate/rep to tell his this is a NO VOTE issue?  They did.

When enough of us decide that a senior (i.e. heads some committee that brings home the bacon to YOUR state) senate/rep, is not worth the privacy he sells out on, to get reelected, we can stop this.  Till then, we have met the enemy, it it is US.  :(

I also got a call from someone with an Indian accent (around 11:30 AM).  Once he said he was calling from Windows Tech Support, I interrupted him and said "oh really, because I work at Microsoft.  What department are you?"  He promptly hung up.  I am betting I am now on their do not call list since I would not fall for their scam.  Of course, I don't really work for Microsoft, but I also know that no one there would call the company Windows.

I just got a call from this a -hole and they called about 10 times yesterday!  I told him I was on the do not call list and if he called again I would contact the authorities.  He then proceeded to tell me he was going to BLOW UP MY HOUSE! YES YOU READ IT RIGHT!  I'm now going to call the police and report!  Of course I called back and just got a busy signal.  I used several explicit comments after he continued to threaten me and I finally just hung up the phone.  This is a scam of some sort, they guy had what I would describe as a middle eastern accent.  BEWARE AND REPORT THESE GUYS!  Also showed Sawyer Arthur R as the person and phone number of 989-792-9494

Got a call from this number, hard to understand Indian accent, said name was John Williams with Windows ITech, informed me that they had been receiving numerous error messages and hacking attempts from my IP address and they wanted to help me clear out the problem. Told me the messages would be recorded in the "computer log book".  Did tell me that the hacking department was in India but he was calling from Saginaw. Wanted to help me so I wouldn't get in legal trouble. He knew my name but had my address all  wrong, gave an address I had never lived at. So I told him I would let my IT department handle it.

Been receiving these calls for the last week, repeatedly. What can I do other than hang up on them? Any suggestions?

I have been getting calls from this number today it is Saturday in Australia!!!! From 8 am to now 4pm Sydney time got 11 call every her!!

Just to update - Since confronting these scamers I haven't received one single call from this number again.  I would suspect that they're only going to continue calling if they haven't contacted you or if they feel they can scam you.  When you get them on the phone tell them your going to report to the authorities and then hang up.  They probably won't call back...

Call  blocker is your best bet.

I yelled at the guy and he threatened me...  Once I hung up on them they haven't called back.  I would suggest confronting them and telling them you're going to report them and then hang up.  The guy I was speaking with was trying to scare me or something, it wasn't working and it frustrated him quite a bit....  I don't use my home phone and never get calls...  I too got 10 or more calls one day and the next morning they continued.  When I answered I didn't even allow him to begin into his crap, I just cut him off immediately and told him to STOP!

These clowns have called me at least 50 times over the last couple months...sometimes as many as 4 times a day. They want me to go to my computer and download some sort of fix for my infected Windows computer. I tell them time and time again I don't have a Windows operating system...only Androids..."CLICK"...they hang up and call again in a few hours. They must have one hell of a phone bill if they're doing this to a lot of people.
