Got a call from a telemarketer in Florida telling me to get my bikini ready because I had won a 7 night all expense trip to the Bahamas...all they needed was my checking account numbers to access the deposit I would have to put down on the vacation!  I laughed (for a second) let her finish and then let loose with language I cant use on line.

This is what I'm worried about.  I gave them my number so that they could remove it from their autodialer list - it's a cell phone, completely against the rules.  I dread having calls like yours, if they dupe my number somehow.  Only time will tell, I guess.

We have received repeated calls and mail about these scam auto warranties.  We have warranties on our vehicles, through the auto manufacturer!  So sad to think that people are getting scammed like this.  The # on my caller ID today was 2176894673.  I hope they are stopped.  This can't be legal.

I've been getting calls at work on both of our lines (one right after the other) for over a month, I used the remove from the list option, only to receive calls the next day.  I stumbled across this site and found out that the company is called National Dealers Warranty, and their website is: http://ndwwarranty.com.  On the contact page they say, "You cannot cancel your policy or get taken off the mailing list through the website, you must call 1-800-436-3185 to do so."  I called this number, informed the operator of my story, and asked to be placed on the 'do not call list.'  He then wanted to know how I know it was them, and I explained about the fake number their autodialer used, and how googling this number led to this site, and that this site contained info pointing to his company.  He said he would take the numbers off the list, but that he could not say whether or not this would eliminate the calls (said he wasn't sure if it was them or not).  I told him to do it anyway, and I asked him to send a confirmation letter detailing the number removal.  This caused him to say he would have to get a manager, the manager was courteous and compliant.  I will post again if I receive the calls again or when I get the letter.

To sum up, call 1-800-436-3185, insist on number removal, and insist on a confirmation letter.

You said, "call 1-800-436-3185, insist on number removal, and insist on a confirmation letter."

This sounds a lot like going to an OPT OUT SITE for removing spam email; it just CONFIRMS that you are a "live" customer and then they sell your info to a bunch of other nuisance marketers.

If you start getting a lot more junk calls, please post here so we'll know whether the source is your 1-800 number above. Thanks.

"Automobile warranty about to expire".  Got the call on wife's cell phone from 706-226-2381 11 minutes before the same call, but different caller-ID (702-529-1465), on my own cell phone. I will cross-post this so folks know it is same outfit using both numbers. Time/date: Jun 7, 2008; 11:41AM. Filed  complaint on each call with FCC.

Do what I do, when they ask for your VIN number tell them you have to go look, and leave them on hold for 15 minutes or until they hang up.  Then they will call  you back later, and you can do the same thing again.
I pretended to be an old lady and talked slow to waste their time.

You can do what I did, when I was getting these calls, I looked up every warranty place I could find on the internet with a toll free number and asked to be removed from their list.  If you do this EVERYTIME you get a call, those companies that aren't doing it might help find the ones that are so they stop getting calls too!

We get these bogus calls several times a day, and it is REALLY starting to bug us.  There should be laws against this harassment. WHY ARE THESE SCAMMERS ALLOWED TO DO THIS? (Is DMV giving out our information to these telephone harassers, or are they merely dialing every possible number in the telephone system?) Recommend that everyone receiving these calls contact the Do Not Call Registry and report them. There are penalties for calling numbers that are on the National and State Do Not Call Registries. Report them!

I have a new policy when it comes to dealing with these clowns. I used to just ignore it, but since I listened long enough to find out that you can talk to an actual "associate" I've been pressing 1 every time I get a call and screwing with them mercilessly. It's a new game for me to make the operators' lives as miserable as possible for as long as I can without them hanging up. I figure if I act stupid like someone who would fall for it, but not give them anything relevant, it at least somewhat gets back at them for wasting my time in the first place.

Important message to all those that have received an automated recorded call ragarding your auto warranty:

There are several corporate entities making this call. They are all related in some way and are all known scam outfits. There are one or two people that register many corporate names to keep one step ahead of the law and any legal trouble. They typically spoof a phone number so what you see on your caller ID is not valid. I've done a lot of research of this scam. One scam is about auto warranties. The other is about credit card debt relief. Their MO is the same. The use an auto dialer, and call thousands of random numbers. They have no regard to the do not call lists. Your demands or complaints are worthless. They will continue to call you. They do not have to obey the do-not-call laws. Why? Because they are crooks. Crooks are exampt from the law. That is why they are crooks! Do not bother to ask to be put on their do-not-call lists. They do not maintain any!

If they call about a car warranty, the message says something as "This is the second notice on your extended vehicle warranty. Press one now to speak to a representative..." The message about credit debt mentions "This is Account Services. We are calling to lower your credit card debt. Press one now to speak to a representative..."

Here are the details of these do***ebags:

    Car Warranty Scam:
    VP Marketing
    4501 Circle 75 Parkway
    Suite #A-1225
    Atlanta GA 30339

    Credit Card Scam:
    Versadebt Corp.
    4501 Circle 75 Parkway
    Suite #A-1225
    Atlanta GA 30339

VP Marketing lists their HR number as 678-238-1351. I checked and the number works. I believe their main number is 678-238-1300.

Both companies are listed with the Georgia Department of State. Here is how you can lookup their information: http://corp.sos.state.ga.us/corp/soskb/CSearch.asp

Search for "VP Marketing" and "Versadebt."

You will find that the "Registered Agent" for VP Marketing is Kelly Lonas, 224 Ripple Creek Drive, Marietta GA 30060. The listed "Member/Manager" is James A. Schoenholz at the 4501 Circle 75 Parkway address.

Versadebt's Registered Agent is the same James A. Schoenholz at the 4501 Circle 75 Parkway address. There is one additional name listed for Versadebt. The listed CEO, CFO, and Secretary is named Marvin Cox, Jr. at the same address.

You can also search for these people at the Florida Department of State website:
    http://www.sunbiz.org/search.html

You will find a web of interconnected businesses, registered at several addresses.

Here are some links to prove my research:
    Job listings for VP Marketing:

Here are some details from RipOff Report:

    http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/0/301/ripoff0301144.htm

And some additional details from whocalled.us:
    http://whocalled.us/profile/ChristineS

Now, what can we do about this? YOU MUST REPORT THEM TO THE FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION!
Here is the link to file a complaint: http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm

I filed a complaint against Versadebt last year, and received a letter from the FCC telling me that they are investigating! I am about to do the same for VP Marketing. If everyone that received a call from these low-life scumbags does the same, then the combined action of thousands of us can stop these crooks from scamming innocent people out of money. You may also try to write your congress person.

Additional information: This is what can happen if everyone were to complain! Furthermore, this is only more piece of evidence that these people are crooks!

Thank you, Jack, for compiling the information on this company.  I filed a complaint with the FCC and will look for other avenues to help put a stop to this.

Every time these telemarketers (warranty, cruises, dish tv...) I get as much info as I can.  Florida is where all of these creeps are.  I ask the name of their company but they say:  "We work for a marketing agency to pre-qualify you for a warrenty."  They know you're trying to get this info so they're as vague as possible.
They always call here (Buffalo, NY) between 10:30am - 11:30am.  Information that I've gotten:
    -Account Services, Orlando, Fl
-National Underwriters, "Tina", Ft. Lauderdale, Fl, 10:10 am, Tue 7/1/08,    "We represent Chevy.  We're a marketing firm.  We pre-qualify you for  getting a warranty."  me: "you have my phone# on file, right?" her: "yea."
-Imperial Majesty Cruise Lines, Wed. 7/2/08, 11:20am, Veronica-KB Travel,   Promotional Dpt, Caribbeans and Cancoon, "Our records indicate that you've been chosen for a free cruise."  PLEASE REPLY: grgeliz@hotmail.com

I called the phone # written above (JlBBONS) for National Dealers Warranty.  This company seems legit.  I spoke with a very polite gentleman regarding this scam and he said that there are only about 9 legit. warranty companies and they are wreaking havoc on his company and he and his legit companies are trying to put an end to their harassment.  I said: "It doesn't help your company, does it?"  He agreed and he said that he and his wife get the same calls at his house and is also fed up.  Let's hope that these few legit companies can get together to crush these scam artists with no regard for the law nor for the "do not call list".

Got a call from "Continental Warranty" told me he knew I was looking for a extended warranty, I told him I had quotes he said not from them.  I asked him how he got my phone number and he said they bought the "link" from Google to get information.  Google is at fault here.

Alot of people are saying that Dealer Services or National Auto Warranty Services in Wentzville, MO are the ones making these calls. They do NOT dial outbound to customers. The best way to figure out who's calling you is to do this:

    1) Answer the call and act interested when you do
    2) Play along, the first person you talk to is just screening calls so agree to talk to a specialist or salesman
    3) Go through the sales pitch then say that you need to call them back with your credit card
4)Get the callback number and post it here. I can get the information as to who the phone number belongs to and I can also verify it with the utility company.

This comment is in response to the one from Jim Vandiver.

You are a liar and a shill for National Auto Warranty Services located in Wentzville, MO. We have seen your numerous posts all over the internet and we are on to your lies on behalf of the scumbags at National Auto Warranty Services.

(Note: to everyone: the following refer only to the company National Auto Warranty Services located in Wentzville, Missouri. There are many other companies with a similar name that may be legitimate. Also, there is a company known as "Dealer Services." This is the company that sends warranty expiration letters to your house with a logo that is a copy of the one used by General Motors. Guess what? It is the same company!)

National Auto Warranty Services is one of the biggest auto warranty scammers and crooks in the country. There is no way they are legitimate in any sense of the word.

Want proof? View this link, a press release from the Attorney General of Missouri:
      http://ago.mo.gov/newsreleases/2008/030608.htm

They are currently being sued by Missouri for fraud and numerous violations of the state's "No Call Law."

In addition, they are part of a national crackdown on telemarketing fraud from the Federal Trade Commission. This press release clearly shows they were involved in both the state and a federal action:
      http://ago.mo.gov/newsreleases/2008/National_ ... filed_by_Nixon/

You can lookup this company's listing at the Missouri Secretary of State website. Be sure to click on the "Filed Documents" link at the top of the page. If you look under the Annual Report dated 4/3/2008, (and previous filings) you will see the home address of  both the President and Vice President of this company. This is public information:
      https://www.sos.mo.gov/BusinessEntity/soskb/Corp.asp?411719

In addition, this Jim Vandiver, or whoever this person really is, has listed more than one location under his profile for different posts. For example, under this post, he is from Council Bluffs Iowa:
      http://www.topix.com/forum/city/rocky-hill-ct/T3S758L7945R8ND2M

And in the following, he lists himself from Troy, NY.
      http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/0/201/RipOff0201058.htm

Guess Jim Vandiver will have to refund the $7.50 that National Auto Warranty Services paid him for his post. Good luck on your next career. Or perhaps Jim Vandiver is really Darain Atkinson, the President of National Auto Warranty Services, or Cory Atkinson, the listed Vice President. In that case, good luck in prison.

Here is how to contact these crooks:
      http://www.oneautowarranty.com/
      800-724-8510

And here are the owners' addresses listed in the Missouri corporation filing:
      Darain Atkinson (President)
      1009 Hawks Landing Drive
      Lake St. Louis, MO  63367

      Cory Atkinson (Vice President)
      20 Signal Hill
      St. Charles, MO  63301
