Just received my first call and googled the number. And I found all these funny wonderful people. 319 has been added to my cell phone's reject list with the rest of the losers who try calling me. From now on 319 goes straight to voicemail. but apparently i dont have to worry about them leaving a message. thanks everyone for the heads up!

I have gotten calls from 319-730-2688,caller id says Phona Thon. Don't know who this is, nor do I want to. I am on teh DO NOT CALL list, but still get calls. I SHOULD not have to even answer the phone to tell them to take me off the list. I SHOILD NOT even be on the list. I NEVER went to college so they shouldn't have my number, it's unlisted for pete's sake!!! This really urks me because they NEVER leave a message as a ligit company should do if they want a response. I will answer next time and let them know to take my number OFF the list!!!

They are pests - calling many times per day and their name is Ruffalo Cody (non profit fundraisers). If you search on @ruffalocody.com, they have a website that gives you their Iowa and Virginia street addresses, direct telephone numbers and pictures of the people behind the calls. For example:

Maybe they can help you get the calls stopped.

A call on behalf of Colorado Public Radio (CPR, KCFR).  3 calls in 24 hrs, no messages left: enough badgering that I decided to pick it up.  They hung up without answering most of my questions, though they claimed to take me off their list.

Along with other abuses of the public good over the years, this firms up my resolve to never contribute to CPR again despite the good that they do.

    Annoyed!
I have received several phone calls from this number (I did not pick up, no message left).

I can understand that universities and non-profits have the need to do fundraising, particularly in these difficult times when no one has the extra money to donate and may not do it spontaneously.

However, I agree with one of the people who posted earlier that the most respectful way to request donations is to display your FULL company name on Caller ID and leave a message saying, "Hello, we are calling because you are an alumnus of X University (or whatever the organization is).  We are in need of financial support.  If you would like to donate, please call us back at xxx-xxx-xxxx."

At least, that gives the person called the option of responding or not, and cuts out repeated unwanted phone calls.  There is a serious lack of politeness in our society today.  People are legitimately concerned about identity theft and similar issues, and companies need to recognize this if they are interested in actually encouraging people to donate to their organizations.  I think they would get a lot more donations, from people who sincerely want to help, using this method.

    Just my two cents.

I think it should.  It's not like these telemarketers are calling out to the goodness of their heart.  They are making a profit on everything they collect.  Maybe over 50%.  Don't give to people who beg over the phone.

this is the 2nd or 3rd time recently -- inside of apx 1 mo. -- that this area code & ph no. calls me, leaves no msg, & when I call back there is ALWAYS a msg that says this person is on the phone. There is no name or identification, etc. given. I am suspicious because I have been having email problems with a person known to send virii when you open their emails. I googled that sender & quarantined their emails & no longer open them. I am curious as to whether this phoning harassment is connected to this same party. They would have no problem finding out my phone number AND they may be trying to get at me because I am one step ahead of them -- my texting function is turned off.

If you can give me any info on this ph no. immediately, I would appreciate it. I don't have a good feeling about it.
    Thanks, Kathy

I have now received a call from 319-730-2688 twice. If I catch the call, I'll be sure to firmly inform them to leave me alone, as I'm still in high school and don't have money to give to others.

That's nice, I haven't gone to college yet and am living in quite an impoverished state, so I guess they're interested in asking someone who is not at all related to their university for money. Great, how about I sell all my clothes so you can get $50 in donations. Alright, makes sense.

My husband & I have had calls from #319-730-2688. They are hang up calls. This is not ok! This company needs to a) leave a message or b) do not call!!  I have an option on my cell phone to block the call. At least one of the numbers from this company can't call me again! For the guy who works for he company: When I have to stop doing my JOB to take the call IF someone spoke, I would say "Please, take me of your call list!!" Only once do I ask nicely...too bad for the next guy who calls because it will not go well.

This guy called and identified himself as representing the Diocese of Trenton.  I told him I was busy and hung up.  I am on the National "Do Not Call List".  I don't want to be bothered by ANYBODY collecting/selling anything.

Students work there, and they do not make any commission. They are just paid a low hourly wage which is around 8 dollars.

I've called this number back a couple of times to be taken off their list. I've also e-mailed them. Whoever they are calling on behalf of is going to get an earful from me. They keep calling regardless of my requests
    to stop.
