A woman asked for me and there was no response afterwards..called back but was not able to connect through...damn telemarketers

Call was listed as wireless call, figured it was a cell phone (I don't answer private or unlisted calls)- woman demanded to know my name, without giving hers, and asked qauestions about my husband's student loans - he doesn't have any anymore - and questioned whether he ever went to college, I just hung up.  I'm on the do not call list...

i get calls constantly from this number, but no message is ever left.  This morning they called repeatedly, about every half hour for 3 hours.  I called back and got a recording that said i had called a number that is not available in my area (midwest).  We do no accept unknown or private calls, but these people have gotten pretty sly.  It now shows up as Phoenix, AZ and the number.  I'm sick of these people and these stupid telemarketers.  What can we do?

got a phone call from this # (623-238-6133). when i answered they hung up. i tried calling back twice. the 1st time i got an error message (think it said that it was unavailable in my area). the 2nd attempt rang several times then just hung up....

got the same call... same error message... what [***].

ya i dont even bother to answer these calls but this girl i know has been calling from hospitals n [***] so i tried to call it back n got that error message.. BUT i do know i got alot of student loans calls.. and im not in college lol o well

My guess is that this # calls about consilidating/buying student loans.

I received a call from this number.  They asked for me and then the woman on the line wanted to verify a federal student loan that I had.  I told her I did not have a federal student loan and she said thank you and hung up on me.

06-29-2007 8:09 AM = caller ID listed call as coming from Phoenix, AZ from number 1-623-238-6133. Woman said: "Your husband has a student loan. We are a company to confirm this information." My wife asked for her name and the company name she is calling from. Caller hung up.

My husband just started recieving phone calls from this number as well. Wegot tired of it and looked the number up as being from AZ and we get the same recording when we tried to call it back. Someone needs to track them down and stop this.

i kept getting phone calls from this number but kept missing it and when i call back it says service not aviliable, i picked it up today and a guy asked me if i had any student loans, i told him that i was never eligible for student loan and i had to work hard for my money and go to school, then i asked where is he calling from he said it was university loan sevices, i asked if he had any thing to proof if i had any loans and he said he didn't, then i asked where did he get my # and name from he refused to say, i then humiliated him and his job and hungup on him

i just called 1411 service asking about the number and the information that i have requested is not available.

i just answered and it was someone with an accent that asked if me or anyone had a loan and i said i paid mine and everyone else. But they knew my first name. damn...

I'm getting hang up calls from the phx number that seems to be associated with this one. 480-543-1179
No one answers. There is no listing or reverse look up for either.
The calls are on my cell. When I unblcoked my number and tried the 480# back I got an message. " not available from your calling area"
Has anyone found out whose these people are??

I found from the blogs a number of these calls are going to Verizon cell users. I did call Verizon to start an investigation. If you have the same service I encourage you to report it to Verizon.
Both numbers calling say they are unreachable from your' calling area.
Yet both area codes are only in Phx.AZ,

I received a call July 3 from this number, 480-543-1179, from a woman asking if I had student loans.  She hung up when I said I'm not interested in any more.  When I tried calling the number, I got the same message "this number is not available in your calling area." I want to report this call to the appropriate investigating agency but I don't know who that is.

Would appreciate any suggestions.

So as I was doing research on the net as to why I'm getting 50+ calls per day.......Low and Behold the infamous number calls. 623-238-6133.  This number has called and hung up on me 4 times within the last hour(07-03-2007).  I'm on the national do not call list.  A lady by the name of Maxine Reynolds identified herself.....I'm sure that's fake.........then I played along and allowed her to give her pitch.....She is with "University loan Services."  As she thought she had a dummy on the line...hehehehe...She started to gather informaiton by asking my name.  That's when I layed into her to have her take me off her calling list and informed her that her company is going to face legal action if she calls again....She said ok.

(623) 238-6133 I keep getting calls from this number but do not answer tell today.  They hung up on me before I could talk to anyone.  I do not have any student loans and would like them to stop calling me.  They are calling my cell phone and I use that as my home phone also.  I tried to call back and got the same message as all of you.  I looked it up also and it is Verizon Cell Phone in AZ.  I will contact Verizon because I am mad. T
