A woman called... Did not explain who she is or what company respresents. Just said that she can help with my credit history. SCAM! I said Not interested, and she was very rude and said Good luck with your credit. I hung up! Don't fall for them!

A man called and said he was from Capital financial, that they had mailed a card to my house at (gave my address) and they would help me rebuild or re-establish credit. He then said that they didnt need to pull my credit report that all he needed to do was verify that I had an active checking account. He asked how long my account had been open and asked me to get a blank check or deposit slip and give him my account numbers and he would hold on while i got it...nice of him huh? I then told him that I wouldnt give him the information over the phone and he said "well you have been turned down for credit, dont you want to rebuild your credit"? I told him I didnt call him for his services that he called me and therefore I wasnt giving him my information, that I had not applied for credit so I hadnt been turned down and I didnt need help with my credit. Then I asked him how he got my phone number (it was a cell number) and, he hung up....I punched his number into google search and it came back with Rip-off reports all over it....

I was awoken from sleep (I work the night shift) by my cell phone ringing. A woman who claimed she was from a bank I've never heard of, asked me for my address verification for my new credit account. I asked her "what credit account?" and she said something hurried and hung up. It was very creepy. Then when I tried calling the number back, my phone reported it busy.
If a real customer service agent is calling, and you call them back (even if they are busy) you will be redirected to the company call center switch board. When I got a busy signal I knew something was up. Don't fall for this kind of scam

I was interrupted 4 times yesterday 4/3/07 starting at 8:25am & ending at 8:37pm all from the phone number (727) 528-7129. My cell phone would ring once & hang up (thank goodness for ring-back tones). Upon calling the number back, all I would receive was a busy signal. The only reason why I even bothered to call this back is because the Area Code & number are from my hometown, Seminole, Florida.

These peopl called me twice today, the first time I didnt hear my phone ring, so I missed it, and when I heard the missed called tone about 5 minuets after I missed it, I looked at my phone, and as I was looking at my phone, they called again. Yup, got some bull about bad credit, and how they could help, and then they asked my for my account number and such, so I asked them to hold on while I got it (I knew it was a fraud call) so I just let them sit on hold, and when I checked back an hour later he was gone, damn, such a nice guy too...

Next time I plan on asking them to marry me, telling them I cant hand out information to strangers :)

(ahh this brings back the old days of tellamarketers and how I would get them to hang up on me...)

Received a call from the number, but the line hung up after I answered and a voice was detected.

These People have called about 15 time in the last 2 days it is getting very bad.  They Called on 4/25/2007 at 5:00pm, 3:28 pm, 11:46 am, 1:47 pm, 2:59 pm, 9:59 pm, 2:25 pm, 9:12 pm, 7:20 pm and on 4/24/2007 it was even whorse today 9:45 pm, 10:50 pm, 1:45 pm, 2:00 pm, 6:00 pm, 3:25 pm, 8:00 Am, 8:45pm, I called and Talked to my cell phone company and they said to contact the local police department and they will take care of it.  All that the guy said on the other end of the phone said HA HA that [***] fail for it again?

I have been getting a call from this number for two weeks now.  I finally picked up the phohe and the lady said it american financial.  She kept talking fast and when I asked her to slow down she got mad

These people called me from that number twice in the morning, asking if I want to better ny credit. I never even applied for any thing like that. When I told them that they hung up but 15 minutes later they called back and this time I din't answer them and when I tried to call back to complain all I got was a busy signal, just like the rest of these people. This is a big time scam be cautious

I received phone calls from this company 4 times yesterday, between the times of 8:30 am and 8:30 pm.
I don't answer calls I don't know anyway, but no messages from numbers I don't know is very annoying.

i made a big mistake and gave out my imformation on my checking account. they are getting clever now. they used the name american finance co. to get me to help rebuild my credit and i gave my information but i didn't tell them to take it out but they do have my information i am calling my bank to put a fraud charge on them. i am going to go to the FBI to get them involve because they are scaming a lot of people.

Funny thing, I have been receiving calls from this number too. They've called twice so far and the thing is....I don't answer phone numbers that are A. Obviously long distance and B. One that I don't recognize.  After reading everyone's reports, it doesn't appear anyone will be taking me for a ride.  For the person that stated they were going to contact the FBI, do so. Identity theft is extremely high in ratio, chances are if anyone has given them ANY kind of information about themselves...start checking your credit reports, contact your banks for placement of alerts on your accounts, and to the extreme of actions, if they get any kind of link with voice activation to their computer....bingo, they get you again.  Cell phone numbers can be traced just like anything else if someone wants something bad enough.  If you don't know the number....don't answer!  If it's anyone genuine, they'll leave a message. This way, you can choose whether or not to call them back.  Never ever give any kind of information that is sensitive to someone you don't know nor recall contacting.  For information for your credit report go to: Freecreditreport.com, from there you can choose which credit agency to check your credit online or in the mail, I choose all three credit agencies, some will give you more information about your credit than the last.  I'm glad I looked up this number and found all of your reports, I know now, not to call back this number nor answer it.

I received 2 calls from this number on 7/16/07.  The first time  they called they said they were finacial group trying help me rebuild my credit and that ive been approved for a credit card.Pre-paid that is,.They knew my address and name .Then after asking didi i still live here i said yes then the call dropped so i thought.Then they called again,the first time it was a black man,the next time it was a caucasion man and when i told him i had no checking account he hung up.I then called 411 to do a search by number ,no listing at all.I think its terrible that people cant get a real job and why cant they catch these people????????????????????????

7275287129 called my work phone 3 times.  First time yesterday, at 2:30pm then twice this morning once at 9:10am and then at 9:17am.  When I picked up on the 9:17am call the gentleman asked for me (full name) then stated I was approved for an American Express card.  He began to quote my address, and before he could get past the street name, I questioned who he was again and where he was calling from.  He was obviously spooked so he hung up.  I don't know who these people are but they are currently going by the name of American Financial, I tried calling the number back several times and no answer, not even a voicemail.  I know this is a SCAM!!!  Be careful people.

THIS NUMBER has called multiple times in the last couple of days.  What can I do?  These FREAKS need to be stopped.

oh my gosh! these clowns just dont stop the called me twice. i finally picked the phone up and called back. they wanted all my information. but when they asked for my account number and routing number i knew something was up. so i just acted like i was going to give her my account and hung up on her. these people need to give it up. OH yea, one question. HOW IN THE HELL DID THEY GET MY CELL PHONE NUMBER!?!?!

I've also been getting calls from this number. This time I called them back (after numerous tries, and getting a busy signal). I got a kid on the line who wanted to take my account and personal information. I told him to check the Internet and Google their telephone # and he might find it very enlightening...that I didn't blame him; he's just doing his job, but that this company is being blogged and reported on for unethical, and possibly illegal, activity. So they've been put on notice that their activity is being watched by the consumer community itself & being reported. I also put my phone # on the National Do Not Call register.

I guess I'm another victim.  I keep getting calls from this same number.  Not only at home but on my cell phone number as well.  I wish I stayed in the same area that this company resides in.  I would sure start a protest.
