This is also the number for Vanderbilt Mortgage & Finance, Inc.. a sister company to Clayton Homes, Inc. If you have purchased or know someone who has purchased a manufactured home from any CMH Homes owned dealerships (Luv Homes, Freedom Homes, Oakwood Homes, Clayton Homes, etc...) and Vanderbilt Mortgage & Finance, Inc was the lender, then you are probably receiving a collections call. if you did not purchase, but know someone who has, they might be contacting you for information as you may have been listed as a "contact" or a relative.

We keep getting calls for a Scott Broadwater (a code name for something?). Always tells them nobody here by that name but keep getting calls. Not comfortable with this sort of thing.

I just got my second call from this number a minute ago.  Same MO: calls but nobody's there or no message left on my phone.  I don't own, or know anoyone that owns, a manufactured home!

Apparently Scott Broadwater is a code. The caller asks for Scott Broadwater and, when told nobody by that name lives at your phone number, either hangs up and calls again later or launches into the "pitch." We are getting very annoyed. We have received numerous calls, mostly from different numbers, but all with the same MO--asks for Scott Broadwater. Any idea how to stop these nuisance calls?

I initiated on-line form completion including my phone # for Clayton Modular Homes, Inc. I asked to have a certain party in Nampa ID put on the line with me and they promptly connected me with my preferred party. If you are completing on-line forms for any of their affiliated companies (about 10 of them incl. Fleetwood, Karsten, etc) then you may well get call-backs. Whatever the source - these companies appear to be legitmate modular home suppliers so you should be able to request your name /and number be taken off their list.

I just got a call they asked if I knew a neighbor "Michael Avaglia" (not sure the spelling is correct on that...)  Anyway I said I didn't know him and asked what the address was ... the caller got vague on me but then gave me the name if the street I live on....

Not sure if it was an attempted collection call or perhaps a "staging" call for a future sales call...

Got a call but no message...I live 2 hours from this business and don't know anyone who's purchased a mobile home.  I haven't applied for anything personally, so I'm puzzled as to why they would be calling me.

i just had Vanderbilt call 10 minutes ago.they left a message though. the callers name was justin from vanderbilt and he was looking for crystal clatin (sp?) or george clatin to give them a very important message. the call back number was 1 800 970 7250 and the reference number was: 637467. i don't know anyone by that name so i'm not calling them back. if you get creative, go ahead. if you know crytal or george give them the message from me... this gets very annoying

Got a call from that number asking for Lisa Smith from Rebecca at Vanderbilt--don't know any Lisa Smith, don't know anyone with a manufactured home and don't know Rebecca.  Rebecca left callback # of 1-888-285-0008 ext 2750.  Said it was "imperative" that they hear from Lisa.  Not calling this back and will X-reference the callback #.  Don't know what's going on.

This is the collection arm of Vanderbilt Mortgage. I have spoken with Rebecca myself as I voluntarily surrendered a mobile home I had purchased and then returned due to an auto accident which left me disabled.
Here is how to handle it:
Get the persons name
Get the persons supervisors name
Get the mailing address of the company
Send certified letter stating you are not to receive any phone calls unless there is a specific change in the account, ie, judgement, going to attorney, etc.
This complies with the FTC guidelines on collection calls.

Got a call from this number, hung up after 3 rings without waiting for an an answer.  Caller ID listed CHM Services and the number 865-380-3000.  I have never financed anything thru this place, but my daughter has.  She does have  her own number.

This number has called at least eight times to my 13 year old son's cell phone. I have called them twice and both times have been told, "There is nothing we can do about it." I have never had any connection with Clayton Homes and neither has my son, unless he is leading some secret financial life I know nothing about.

ok so u guys had ppl call and actually say stuff....well the number calls me and then just beeps in intervals of about 5 seconds it just beeps! and if u ignore it it will leave a message of beeps like its some sort of computer or something? idk but its pissin me off!

I got a call from this number today on my cell phone.  I called it back and it was Clayton Homes/Vanderbilt Mortgage.  I eventually talked to someone there who asked me for my account number.  When I told her that I didn't have one and that my mortgage was through someone else, she said she couldn't tell me who called.  I asked her if she could put my number in the system and see what came back and she said that I would have to wait until I got called back.  The only thing I can figure is that it's a collection call for someone who had my cell phone number.  I've only had this number for a little over a year and when I first got it, I received numerous collection calls from more than one company.  I eventually got that all straightened out and now it may begin again.

I got a call from this number last night. I let the Answering mechine get it. A man asked for me to give a Joe Dalton as message. He said Joe was a neighbor of mine. I don't know a Joe Dalton.

My mother received a call from this number asking about a relative of my husband.  She gave them my number and when they called I said I didn't know how to get in touch with this relative as we don't speak with them.  Not sure of how my mother got involved in the whole thing or who these people even are but I don't want to be contacted by anyone I don't have business with.
