Blessings on you, Linda.  I used to have someone living with me who had racked up a lot of debts and I thought possibly they were calling for him.  Another possibility is a debt that I had that was canceled in 2004, and I had to pay taxes on the canceled debt as income; I was afraid that it might be someone who had bought that debt and that if I said the wrong thing to the caller, the entire debt would be reinstated.  I took a chance and called that 303/487-5400 and actually was able to get through to someone right away.  I gave her the number they were calling and she gave me two different names, both of which had Michael for a first name, and neither of which was yours truly; the first Michael she named is someone I have gotten calls for before.  She apologized and said that she would remove my name from all their lists.  Now let's see if it actually happens.

I'm glad everyone is leaving their comments about this number since "Jennifer and Larry" are a household name.  I have been receiving calls from them almost daily for over 2 months.  I've tried to call them back a couple of times just out of curiousity to see what they're up to but they leave you on hold forever and hang up.  Based on all the comments I will report them to the Attorney General's office also since I'm on the "Don't bug me list!"

The internet is a wonderful thing when we need to help each other out from losers that can't make an honest living like the rest of us!

I've been getting 1 to 2 calls a day from this number for the past two months or so.

I getting calls from 1-866-267-9392 to my cell phone since one year ago. They asked for Caroline, but she doesn't ...

I received a phone call from a Joshua Newsom last night. Claiming that he represented the law offices of James J Standley in Colorado (Im in Missouri). He said that I owed for an overdrawn bank account (that I never, in fact had) in the amount of 1500.00. He said they'd settle for 1000.00. He wouldn't give me a mailing address. James J Standley is NOT licensed to practice in my state. So if any of them are reading these blogs.... Bring it on!!
Also, he called my cell phone, which is not only not listed its not even in my name.

When I tried that number some woman that sounded like a second grade dropout answered the phone..

They will tell you that they represent a certain law firm and are collecting for them. Why would a collection agency hire a lawyer to hire a collection agency?????
Tell your parents to contact their attorney just in case, and do not give these clowns any personal information. Good Luck

i got a letter in the mail from these guys stating employment investigation on an old account they thretend to sue if i didnt pay somthing by the 16th granted this accont is about 4 years old but have herd nothing on it till now

Check your state's statute of limitations on debt - it's either 3, 4 or 6 years.  If the SOL has expired, they can harass all they want but the debt is no longer legally collectible.  If you pay even a fraction of the amount, the clock on the SOL will be reset and start running all over again, so do some research before you decide what to do.

I have gotten multiple calls from these guys. Everything I have read from others about these phone #'s is the truth. They call everyday, numerous times a day, and you can't reach them back when you want to because of a fast busy signal or the office is closed. They are very rude, unprofessional and threatening. They have sent me things in the mail saying they are going to take me to court and on the supposed court date I called the courts to see if I needed to be there, and they knew nothing about it. I believe that is harrassment. I am going to be calling  
a lawyer about this harrassment and have told James J Standley's office to not call me anymore. Anything they need to say to me should be mailed by certified mail.

I just received a call from this number. When I answered there were several clicks and then a man came on the line and said "hello"....when I responded with another "hello" he hung up. I called the number and asked the woman who answered to identify herself and explained the reason why. She said they are Professional Recovery Services and that she doubted the man had hung up on me purposefully...that they are automated calls and he probably did not hear me say hello before he hung up. Whatever, I know he heard me. I just think he lost his nerve to speak with me because they have no reason to call me and I busted them on this before. The debt they call me about is paid. I never returned any of their calls (for two years) never answered any of their mail and still just paid the bill on line directly to Household Bank. Anyway, for what it's worth, this is a debt recovery service.
