SKO Brenner also collects debts from other mail-order type businesses like Columbia House or BMG CD clubs; probably more, especially the notoriously shady "We'll automatically ship your order to you every month and bill your credit card, and give you a really hard time when you try to stop us!" type deals.

One thing I read on SKO Brenner is they are contracted to make at least a certain # of calls per day. So, they aren't necessarily interested in actually talking to you to clear things up; they'd rather hang up and call back again.

As KM posted before, take steps to make them stop:

I, too, continue to receive calls from this number and calls from 1 800 553 1077.  The last time they called--I demanded a copy of their paperwork supporting their claim of my "delinquent status" from four years ago.  The woman flat out refused to provide anything saying "we know you owe it now you have to prove you don't".  She threatened to send this case to collections.  I told her if it generated some paperwork that I could actually see and included an address--do it." She hung up on me.  I am searching for a location for these "nut jobs" and when I find it I will post all the info I can find.

i too, am receiving calls from this number... I answer they hang up... I call the number back was on hold 21 minutes was disconnected...
i am on a no call list going to report it.. I don not owe any one anything... home is paid out cars is too.

yip, me too. and i reported them to the local poloice for phone harrassment. they are trying to contact the people who used to have my phone number, i guess.

This number calls continuously from 9am in the morning til 9pm at night. It is ridiculous. We are also on the do not call list but doesn't stop them. It is incredibly annoying. Its always an automated message on the answering machine.

kept getting calls from this # on my pre-paid cell phone, ignored them for a long time, because the phone is "pre-paid". finally had enough, and used that phone to call back, when asked for my "reference #" i hit the "#" key and actually talked to a human!  told him that the # they were calling was a "pre-paid" cell, he asked if i was "lizzy" when i said no, he said they must have had a wrong contact number, and would delete mine from their system.  2 weeks and no more calls.  hope it lasts!  when i tried to return the call on my land-line only got hang-ups even if i just used the # key as i did on the cell.

I'm on the donot call list . I donot owe anyone anything I pay my bills on time. this 866-281-4135 number calls and hang up constantly. I am fuming right now.

I got a call from this number today.  It was an automated message that asked is this ________, press 1 for yes and 2 for no.  I pressed 2 since no name was even imputed into the blank.  Then is asked me: does ________ live at this phone number, press 1 for yes and 2 for no.  Again, no name was evem imputed into the blank.  I pressed #2 and then it hung up on me.

Very strange.

I have been recieving a call from 1-866-281-4135.  I want it to stop!  I have a credit protection and I get reports on my credit.  I have no delinquent  bills. They never say who they are calling for, so how do they know they are calling the correct person.

I switched to Vonage last night.
They assigned me a new number.

Less than twelve hours later, I receive a voicemail from Annette Smith at 866-281-4135.

Must not be for me.

I have also received calls from the same company and I've also been hung up on.  I feel that if this company is going to hang up on people and then document that they made contact this is dishonest.  I know that my issue has to do with a false purchase with my debt card.  When Guthy Reinker did not get paid they turned me to collections. Now my credit is blemished and this company is not willing to deal with helping resolve the false charges.

Keep getting calls from 866-281-4135.  Says she is Annette Smith and I need to return call as soon as possible.  When I called to get the company name, the message is cut off at beginning and never tells the company's name.

I continue to gets these annoying calls.  Most of the time they hang up on the 2nd or 3rd ring.  Occasionally, I answer and get an automated message asking if I am xxxxx, press 1 if yes or 2 if no.  I always press 2 and then get the "does xxxxx live at this address, press 1 if yes and 2 if no.  I press the "no" response. This should end the calls but does not.  This morning I pressed the first yes prompt and was connected to a real person.  I tried to tell him they were calling a bad number and were wasting their time but the man hung up on me before I could make my point.  Very, very unprofessional company. Why do they not want to listen and learn a little something??

Sick to death of these idiots calling us DAILY. They always hang up when the answering machine kicks on and when we pick up it's some automated crap about "holding for the next representative with some important information." It's INFURIATING >=(

I have been getting the same phone calls.  I have a very high credit score with no issues or past due accounts.

don't feel bad for the last several day they called. I called the number back to find out who was calling. it was this collection agency. just today they called twice this afternoon and before i got the chance to answer my cell phone they hung up. the did it again this evening so finally i called the number back. it requested the number off the letter so i just went 10000# and sent me to the CS. at first the conversation was pleasant and explain that the person they are trying to get a hold of no longer own this number. the put it in the system BUT 10 minutes later they called me again. so I called back this time i wasn't pleasant at all. the [***] hung up on me. this happened four more time the last two time i requested to speak with their supervisor and informed them that i will be filing a complaint with the attorney general office. they didn't give a [***] and refused to let me talk to thier supervisor. after all that they called me again on my cell this time i answered and told them to f@#$ themselves and hung up on them.I have been trying to track down this 1-866-281-4135 and finally found a site that I am not the only one who has problem with this company.

four calls about 25 minutes apart and finally someone is on the other end.  Saying I bought a trimmer or edger over the phone in June 2007.  I never buy anything over the phone.  When I asked to talk to a manager they said it will show up on your credit report and hung up.  When my wife called back they would not give the address the product was sent too.  And eventually after getting an ear full from my wife they hung up again.  Seems like a scam.

numerous calls no one there

Called me twice today on my cell phone.  The second time it only rang once--and I didn't get to it.  I called it back on my home phone.  Got a man that asked if I was Beverly Someone.  Told him no.  He took my name and then said, "So you are not Sara Miranda?" When I said no he hung up on me.  Great customer service.  Don't even know if that means I won't be called again.
