Left a message about lowering interest rates. I called them back and it didn't say anything about what company it was. I pressed 1 to take my number off their call list.

Caller ID said "SERVICEMSG," automated call told me I was eligible for a reduction in my credit card interest rate. My guess is has no connection to my credit card company. Didn't listen long enough to hear if there was an opt-out.

I listened to the message just to get switched over to their opperator... then I asked the question ..
What Credit card? then they hung up right away this is a total scam.
I called back on the the number only to get their bogas recording.. Caller ID showed Voter Reach .I just wanted to cut loose on these A- Holes. They keep calling you until someone picks up and only let the phone ring for a short while then call back..
Beware of this scam!!!

I got one again today. I've had the same type of calls coming in for years now. They don't care if you push any number to get the calls to stop, they don't care if you ask them politely if you talk to one of their "operators", they change their phone numbers frequently so as not to get caught, and are not afraid if you threaten to call your Attorney General.

Today I went as far as I could with the interview. The operator identified himself as Scott and gave an ID number of 2525A. He then asked what card had a balance of over $5K, the expiration date, and a spiel about them being the same Card Member Service as listed on the back of my CC. So the last trick was asking me to read the numbers off my card. Didn't ask me my name to verify who he was talking to, just wanted my card number. Of course I lost it on him. He had the gall to argue that they were perfectly legit and never had called before. I just kept yelling and he finally hung up.

Time before when they called, I listened to the operator tell me it was Santa Claus calling from the North Pole Unemployment Office, and then he laughed and hung up.

If you Google you'll see that this scam has been going on for years and that gives me a feeling of helplessness. My home is under attack by some greedy, scum suckers who prey on those too naive to understand that there are people like this actually contacting them.

I am going to post this on every scam protection site I find. Maybe if enough of us get mad, someone with the authority to stop it will listen. (Hope springs eternal.)

Just received a call 10 minutes ago. Caller ID said Services MSG. Tried to call it back and all it does is ring nobody picks up. It is a SCAM to lower your Credit Card Interest Rate. I know it's a Scam because I don't have any credit cards. I am on the National Do Not Call List but apparently that's a Waste Of Time being on it because I still get harassing phone calls.

I have been trying for months, maybe even years to have success against these pains in the ass, without any success. I hope you will extend a word of encouragement to me.

Good Luck

I got the call today. Same people who have called about 100 times using other fake caller ID #s. I said I wanted lower rates, went through a whole fake CC with him, when he went to verify things, he never came back. Next time I am going to give them a visa gift card with .10 balance left on it and no name attached to it. Lets have a little fun with these [***].

They called about 5 minutes ago. Let the answering machine pickup. The call was actually in progress, usually they hang up so I didn't hear who was calling over the machine message. Just said I could get 6.9% interest for a limited time but if I didn't do anything this was a limited time offer. Yeah right.
Why won't the authorities do anything? Too busy worried about paying lip service i.e. the FCC Do Not Call list. Also erosion of America into a country still based on "service" industries and no ethics/morals.

I have received MANY calls form these numbers. I got a nessage this week telling me it was my last chance to lower my credit card rates. If I didn't respond, they would NOT call me.. I thought ,''AT LAST''. To my dismay I have received two more calls! The last one I decided to press 9, to tell them we would appreciate it if they didn't call again, and the person started to bellow like a spoiled child throwing a tantrum!! Now, I know this is childish, but hey, I for one, am going to press the number for a
real person and bellow my heart out. At this age we have to create our own entertainment you know ! Plus, it is a way to let them have a small dose of the aggravation. Apparently we can't stop them, and the 'do not call lis't is for lack of a better word, useless, right? So, who's with me ????

The company is called Card Member Services but do not contact the company from the website cardmemberservices.com as they are not affiliated with the scam. The webpage is through Chase bank & works w/other banks like First USA bank in DE. It's just unfortunate they are using that name. I just got a call today (again) that came up as SERVICEMSG with a Washington D.C. number 1-202-367-9951 & also 1-202-367-9968. I pressed 1 to get an agent so I could ask to be put on their do not call list. When I got an agent & asked for a direct number & address for the company I was disconnected. I am on the national do not call list so I filed reports for every time they have called me. If you call the number back you can press 1 to be put on their do not call list but it doesn’t work.

The following number called to lower interest rate and pushed 9 to have removed and it took me to a live and very rude person. Would not let me interrupt to say that I wanted the phone number removed, and was told to shut up you f***ng c*** and hang up on me. When I tried to call back to talk to supervisor was not able to talk to a live person again. This people need to be shut down and stopped. The phone number was 202-367-9951.

I actually played their game.. pressed one on the initial message to speak to one of their reps.. when she came on the phone.. they claimed to be cardmember services .... and then further that they are the ones that perform the processing of statements for the credit card companies (and yes I've seen that name there on one of my statements as she indicated with "if you look on your bill ...") The problem is, that we as card members have agreements with the banks on those cards ... chase, first american, citi group.. and as part of Cardmember Services being able to "service" the account, they are doing so as if a "messanger". The messanger isn't the creator of the message, they aren't the legally bound representative of what the message says.. and as such, they *should not* be calling me (us) with advertisments (trying to sell us on using their fee/interest rate reduction services).

The bank gave you information to process payments for them.. any use of that information outside of what was directly authorized is illegal (certainly immoral) and violates terms of service agreements ... especially when you tell your bank to put you on their donot call list ... and its CERTAINLY against the "Do Not Call" registry because we don't have business dealings with the "Messanger" we deal with *the bank*

horrible expectation that company has.. they think they can do what they want with the info they get ... they're wrong.. and they've been reported to DoNotCall.Gov ... they also used ficticious CID info.. mine said "Voter Reach". [***].

And forgot to add... when I tried to get her to admit she shouldn't have been calling ... she told me to "go f**k yourself sir" .... I've had interchanges with many companies before... resulting in being hung up on.. but rarely have I *EVER* had one of these people say something like that. Completely uncalled for.

I have had three calls in the last week. My only regret is that they don't operate door to door so I could stop the problem.
