I received two calls today--one at 1:30 p.m.and the other at 9:32 a.m.both picked up by my phone but no messages.  I would like to talk to them because as has been reported by others, I don't owe any medical bills.  They are paid at the time of service.

This number called my land line and left an automatic message but the name of the person they wanted was garbled and I could not make out who they wanted.  I called the number and they give you 2 options.  If you are this person please call them pressing #1.  If that person is not home press #2.  There are no other options to leave a message and tell they have the wrong number.  I have no hospital bills outstanding.
It seems like these senseless calls are increasing and it is really disruptive to my family.

"Personal business" eh? Well, unless they want to tell me who they are (company name), and what they want from me, don't expect us to answer the phone and don't expect to receive any calls from us.

Anyone being barraged by phone calls from Penn Credit should consider a cease and desist letter.  Also, if they are claiming a debt demand a debt validation letter be sent to you by US mail.  E-mail no good.

Been getting calls from these people multiple times, I would say twice a week on average. They say they have personal business. "Personal business" my a$$. Either say who you are in your message or don't expect a call back from me.

paid my medical clinic bill on time, 3 months later medical clinic claimed they never received but added $50 late fee to $20 bill. The check was never cashed. I drove to the clinic paid them $20 cash but refused to pay the $50 late fee. They took it. Now the contracted billing company is calling on this number for the $50 late fee. When hell freezes over. I had the number blocked.

These criminals seem to make a feeble attempt at collecting medical debt.  they keep trying to collect even though a debt validation letter was sent by certified, return receipt US mail.

ID on phone said unavailable----why would anyone answer that information on a Sunday evening? That being said I will block another number. A great business model: call with no caller information, leave no message, call at goofy times on non business days. I wish I could forward these to the congress maybe they could use the interruption.

I get at least 2 calls from this number every day.  I have told them over and over that my son has not lived here for 3 years and I don't have any forwarding information (and I really don't). I have asked them to stop calling my cell phone because I cannot help them and since he is 30 years old I am not responsible for his debts.  They continue to call so I have blocked them so that all they get is hung up on and not even allowed to leave a message.

I got a few of these calls while I was out, they never left a message.  I was home today and a call came in but I did not pick it up.......this time they left an automated message, and it was for someone who lives on the EAST side of my street with the same house number.  I live on the WEST side, but get calls from collection agencies all the time trying to locate the guy on the EAST side......he must be a deadbeat.  I hate that they do this, just spam everyone and anyone with the off chance that they MIGHT get lucky.  I'll call them back on Monday when they are in the office and chew them out.....I'm sick of getting calls for someone I don't even know!

These people call everyday and I never answer it. On my voicemail it says,"If this that person, please press 1." I called the number back and they said to try back another time. Should I answer and hear them out? Or just simply block them?

Several posts above your both I and CWG40 posted information on these criminal debt collectors.  Also, read the following:
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
Read up on your rights here, get template letters to send and also make a complaint at this government site:  http://www.consumerfinance.gov/
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.

The recording said it had a message about "important personal business." The person getting the call was asked to press 1 to get the message in English. I remained silent. My Caller ID only gave the phone number. I hung up. I appreciate your informative post. I don't like having outstanding bills to anyone, but have had to put them on the back burner due to destitution caused by involuntary long-term unemployment caused by job discrimination. Creditors don't seem to get it and are heartless, trying to get blood from turnips.

paid drexel hospital, two days AFTER they cashed my check they submitted my name to this collection agency for lack of payment!!! unbelievable!!
they wanted me to send them copies of my checks as proof, i was going to but then thought why should i waste my time doing all this when i had already paid my bill.
and if they try to ruin my credit, go ahead. i already own my home outright and have no need for a car and i just paid off all my credit cards and have cut them up.
