Back in 2008, I was interested in publishing a book I had written and sent these folks an inquiry. Had I known that several years later they would still be calling me, I wouldn't have even bothered! They used to call twice a year but now it seems to have ramped up. Never have talked to them and never will...

This number just called me also, it came through on the caller ID as Brenda Reuter  whom I do not know so I did not answer, but upon checking this page out I see that someone said it is iuniverse a publishing company so I can honestly assume that this is who the Brenda Reuter is calling from or for because I just recently filled out a form to receive their tips on publishing.

I received a call from them but I did not pick it up. No more than a minute later I got a call from 317-489-3887  which is another publishing company. Think they are the same company going under both names

iUniverse book publishing.  You either made an inquiry about publishing a book, or someone thinks that you're writing a book.  It is presumably a legitimate business that helps people self-publish their books - for a fee, obviously.

I missed a call from ‭+1 (812) 330-2909‬ and they left a voicemail - sounded like when someone pocket-dials you and accidentally leaves a message. Just a lot of loud noises, I swear I could hear sirens in the background and people talking. Very strange, especially if this is supposedly a business. I never gave them my number & didn’t call back.

After working in publishing for 20+ years this is very bogus.  you can pitch your book ideas directly to publishers and or hire a book agent who will do the leg work for you for a fee of 15 to 20% (not sure what it is these days) of your total book deal.

It was probably placed from a call center.

Yes, it's a publishing company.  But from my experience publishers DO NOT harass you! Previous publisher I had contacted would call me from time to time, or email, but she never continuously bothered me.
So I'm assuming these guys, although legit, are out for your money's best interest... not yours!

I called them as well and continued to get calls until I finally told them I'm not interested and financially strapped. That ended that...lol

They called my cell phone but I didn't answer, however, they did leave behind a voice message. Though they mentioned publishing, I'm not sure how they got my name or number but I will not return their call.

These people called me at 7 in the morning and I only answered because it was so early I thought it must be an emergency and the caller ID said the name John Clinton. When I realized it was not a social call I flipped out, said to remove me from the call list because that person no longer lived. This was about 3 weeks ago. Then they just called my house again and I answered telling them that I had already told them to remove this number from their list and to not call back. He reluctantly said "okay mam..." I am astonished by their behavior. I pointed out that it is illegal to make those calls outside of the 9am-9pm window. Rude.

SE- It was after 10 p.m. your time?  That's illegal.  Telemarketers are only allowed to call a number until 9 p.m. where that number is located. If they violate that rule, they can be fined $16,000 per each violation.
