Very garbed message on my cell phone.  Per other sites on the web, they are stating it's someone posing as the IRS.  Since it is the policy of the IRS not to connect you via phone, assuming it is a phishing attempt.

Yep, totally bogus.  At the end of the message from the "IRS", the recording says "god bless you".  Ha.

This number has called repeatedly, automated message claiming to be IRS, no options - just call us back.  So I called back asking who they were looking for and the person with the foreign accent was able to tell me my name based on my phone number.  When I started asking him questions, we were disconnected(?).  Tried to call back but somehow the number was no longer working.  Tried again a few hours later and the same guy answered it.  I just hung up...I probably should have given him an earful.

Same  here, but when I called them back, as soon as I got a person, I let loose with an AIR HORN.
I don't think they will call anymore.

Got the message from 202-239-2456 that said if I didn't call right away they were proceeding and taking it to court, then God Bless You. My daughter is the detective in charge of fraud and scams in our city. She asked the number and as soon as I said 202, she stopped me and said any number starting with 202 and has this type of message is a scam. I felt it was but I worry because my mother would have fallen for it. The elderly are easy targets. Please pass this information on to save others.

I'd like to point out that the area code 202, according to google, is for washington DC, and the Internal Revenue Service is located in North Carolina.
