- JimmyCall from "IRS" saying I would be arrested in 2 hours if I didn't pay $2746. Spoke with "Ms. Cooper", badge IR4876 and then her supervisor "Samuel Parker" who wanted me to go to Wal Mart or CVS to get a debit card for the amount. Both of these idiots could barely speak English.
- Caller: "IRS"
- Sharon| 1 replyThis is hysterical to me. I just received a call from this #. A recorded voicemail was left. First off, they try to sound official because the call came from a Washington, DC area code. The recording started off by saying "This is your FINAL NOTICE and identifying themselves as the IRS." That was the first clue it was fraud since it's the FIRST time I heard anything on this deal, plus, the IRS uses US Mail. They know how to find you if they really need you so "a final notice" after not hearing from them at all in the past is signified fraud to me. The recording went on to say that they are filing a lawsuit against us and left a call back # of 202 738-4442. HA! HA! Don't fall for this. I feel bad for innocent victims.
- Caller: Identified as IRS, but wasn't
- Call type: Debt collector
- LindaSame situation as others described. And our identity was stolen this year as well!
- DougJust received my 2nd call in a month from this automated voice. Exactly what it said above to Sharon.
- Barbara Graig| 1 replyReceived voicemail from the Washington DC area with this same number....it was a robo call instructing me to call the stated number today or the IRS would file a lawsuit for monies owed from taxes.... When I called the man who answered talked extremely fast as if reading from a script and was difficult to understand...I asked him to repeat some information....he became angry.....felt I was mocking him and he immediately hung up....numerous attempts to reach him after initial call were unsuccessful .......

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

The voice said it was an "officially a final notice." We have not heard from the IRS and I believe if there was a "lawsuit" we would not be hearing about it from a robo call.
- MikeThis is the 3rd call of this type I've received. The first was an guy named "Bob", with an obvious Middle Eastern accent, poor grammar, and bad English; the last two were a computerized woman's voice. It's been going on since September. Seems the government of phone service providers would have a way of shutting these down by now.
