Caller indicates they are the IRS and are about to sue me and I should call that number immediately. Stupid scam if I've ever heard one

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

IRS calling and preparing a lawsuit. Most likely a scam.

Received a call from (202) 766-5905.  When I answered, there was a computerized voice indicating this was a courtesy call to inform me of a pending FBI lawsuit against me, and to call back, at the same number.  Clearly fishing for people who are gullible enough to respond.

Automated call saying they were the IRS and had been trying to reach me and to call back.

I answered phone to someone computer telling me they are the IRS and they have a law suit against me and I have to call them immediately. I looked up the phone number and of course did not call the number back.

Same call as the others, computerized woman's voice claiming to be IRS filing a lawsuit. Had left a message but only got half the recording in the message, real professional.

Same thing as everyone else has said. I called the number back and asked why I hadn't received a notice in the mail. He said it was sent but I didn't respond. I recently moved so this was plausible. I told him I would need an official letter before I take this call seriously and he hung up. The same number called me the next day. Whoever is behind this, get a real job!
