I got call this from this scammer he was asking for $1000  and wanted credit card and social info, he had a thick Nigerian accent I hung to verify the number from irs.gov but even before that i read all these post over here about this scumbag scamming and frauding people by using IRS.

Thanks for taking the time to post your complaint. Received a recorded message indicating I was being investigated by IRS and could be indicted. left call back number 202-808-3670.They called 3 times and left the same message on my answering machine. This person also had a foreign accent.

After the third call, I called my local precinct and gave them the number and also called a precinct in DC and gave the desk officer the number. She, the desk officer, could not have cared less!!!  My precinct was aware and said don't worry.  
I then called back the the 808 number and had a little fun with him and asked him to call a number that I repeated several times---it was the number of my precinct. I pretended to be so frightened and was completely histrionic-----that's when the piece of garbage realized that I was having fun with him and he told me to S his C. What a pig!!!
If anyone locates this infidel, let me know and we can tear his throat together

I've got this call two times already. I found them to be funny being that I'm in Law Enforement. But also I understand that some people will fall for this scam and pay or stress over it. With sites like this, hopefully people will be more informed and educated so if they do get one of these BS scam calls from these scumbags,they will tell them off, just like my mother did yesterday when SHE got this call.  Use common sense people, if something seems just not right, check into it. You can find out most anything on the Internet. Everyone be safe out there!

father in-law received this today 86 year old man and put him into a panic! Hubby called them back and told them to send the Sheriff! click

Report the Calls to the real IRS here:
•report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.

Got a call today today saying I was named in an IRS criminal investigation and that I needed to call this number.  I called and a guy with a thick foreign accent identified himself as agent Allen Foster and started asking me for info, told him that's not how it goes.  He's supposed to know my info if he's real.  He hung up.  I called him back a little while later and acted concerned about my IRS criminal investigation.  When he asked for my name, I told him it was Jane Fonda, then willingly gave him a bogus phone number and SSN.  He seemed pretty excited.  He said he would check my file and get back with me.  I thanked him.  I've been calling back all afternoon as Eleanor Roosevelt, Cindy Brady, Lois Lane and a variety of other people...  Pretty fun!

These Dump SOB. Don't have nothing to do. I got that called yesterday. I return the call this morning and of course it was a  scam. Thank God I have a IRS office next door and was told by a rep. that is a scam. Now I call the SOB back and they hung up.!!!!
