- DocRodThis is Washington DC calling and it's a political call hyping another loser running in the upcoming election. They do not answer when you do, so it's probably computer generated.
- Caller: Out of Area
- RobinI do not answer when this number calls, Has called twice on 11/30/2015. Calls come through on my cellphone.

- Caller: Idk
- Laura G| 2 repliesI get this call regularly, sometimes I answer, sometimes I do not (depends on my mood). I always ask them to stop calling!! They usually tell me that I have received a one time grant from the federal government based on my "demographics" for anywhere from $5-7,000. When they start asking me for personal information I typically ask them why they do not already have it since the grant is based on my "demographics"??? The caller typically gets irate with me and starts cursing at me at which time I hang up.
- Caller: Federal Government
- nella bThis number is a scam number calling and claiming you have won some kind of "government grant." They have called me 8 times in the past 24 hours. I blocked the number and have reported them to the national do not call registry.
- Robert20Didn't answer the calls. It called 3 times today they did not leave a message. The calls started out of the blue. It comes up as Washington Dc on my caller Id. Looked up the number online and it says it's unknown and lots of people said it was deceit and KO. I agree cause I pay for a service that looks up names, e-mails, and phone numbers and when I tried to look up this number it said NO Reault Found. Which has never happened with the service I use. I wouldn't answer and I blocked the number.
- Caller: Don't know.

- kr307Got a number of calls 2 months ago from this number and similar ones claiming to be the Federal Government Grant Agency. Played along one time. It's a scam, they want you to buy a prepaid card to put your "grant" on so they can take the money you put on it. I started telling them I know about their scam and asked them to stop calling. That didn't work, so I told them I would try to hurt them next time they called. Air horns are painful at close range. They quit calling after I had blasted 2 of them. Got another call today, gonna get the horn back out when I get home.
- V. JI received 2 calls today within an hour from this number. I did not answer because I do not know the number. I googled searched the number and found this page. Possible scam.

- Slim replies to Bill SaunierModern technology has given telespammers the tools to call you.
Lawbreaking telescammers ignore both the Do Not Call list and any request you might make.
Modern technology can also protect you, if YOU do a few simple things!
The most effective thing to do is to get a call blocking device, service or app.
Then, use it correctly.
Google "call blocker" for more information. There are available apps (some free) for smart phones, and services and devices for landlines.
If you cannot use or afford such a tool, then click on the "Alternate Methods" button, below:
[spoiler=Alternate Methods]
• Do not answer calls from unknown numbers ... let them go to voicemail or answering service. Telespammers usually hang up after 3 or 4 rings.
• Do NOT return calls from unknown numbers! All that does is verify your phone number, and make it more valuable to more spam groups! And, in some cases, those return calls may cost $20 or more to complete. If the incoming call was important, they would have left a message!
• If you have a "dumb" cell phone, assign the scammer's number to a group named "scam" (or similar). Then, assign a silent ringtone to that group. (This also works for smartphones). The spammer will usually hang up before the phone goes to voicemail.
• Another option, for cell phones: Assign a "silent ringtone" as DEFAULT. Then, assign your favorite ringtones to all known friends / family / business numbers. That way, you will hear rings ONLY from those you wish to contact! You will not hear scammers' rings, even if they change their number! (This is also called "whitelisting", and will cause you to miss calls from non-whitelisted numbers).
