205-865-6696

Call comes in and registers on cell phone as unknown but when you select it out of call log to call back it shows 865 6696. Since I'm in a 205 area I am assuming it is a 205 number. Yet when I call it back it says number is not in service. This has been occurring 4 or 5 times a day for the past 3 days I am concerned about this type of call.

Yes me too. This must mean that it is a different area code entirely. It is very strange.

Same thing ring and no answer. Very odd and is an area code that is who knows maybe even Canada. Its hard to figure out where. There has to be a scheme or scam to it? Why else would this be happening?

Wondering if this is something to do with the phone or the carrier. I have had sprint for 10 years and never had this happend and the same number for 6 years. Switched to an Iphone 4s and this all started. No area code just missed calls.

i receive 3 or 4 calls per day from this number.. with no area code.  just 865-6696.  i've not answered it for fear of who might be on the other end.  i'm not sure how to report this and get this number to stop calling me.  VERY aggravating!

after answering my telephone to and odd number claming that i signed up up for an all cash sweepstakes.
i asked how did they get my infromation they said its a major credit card promotion that includes visa mastercard discover and amex and that i was choses to recieve a free watch and a 40 month subscription to 2 magazines of my choice.
so i went ahead and went on with the process.
but her i am just like the rest of you confused of how or why they would have gotten my number.
i never recalled signing up for this sweepstakes or did i?
so after all being said and done i just got off the phone with my bank for about and hr and im being issued a new card.
P.S.THIS IS A SCAAMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i also notices someone said they just got the iphone 4s, i did too! maybe its has something to do with it maybe not!

"865-6696" is the number for "UNKNOWN" - It can be any unknown number (hence the lack of an area code)

I just received a call, and it was my doctor's office...

I got my Sprint iPhone 4S two weeks ago and that is when the calls started.  I answered one and it was a recording so I hung up.  Been getting a couple a day.

I just got my iPhone 4S the first week in December, and a couple of days ago I started getting  a call from 865-6696 when I answer they never say anything. It's really annoying! If anyone knows how to stop the calls, please let me know!

Same as Jeff and NJD. Just picked up my new Sprint iPhone 4s Monday, call came in today. No answer, no message.

Same here..that is weird!  I also just got the iPhone 4S with Sprint and started getting these calls from that same unknown number...when I answer no one says anything and then it hangs up after a while.  I think I am going to give Sprint a call and see what they have to say.

I get the same thing....don't know if it is sprint or the iphone. Annoying - but it is always associated with a call in some way - either one I missed or one I don't switch back to on a multiple call

OMG I too just got the iPhone 4S from Sprint when I started getting these calls!!! I get them around 8am, 1pm, 5pm, and 9pm. I hope its not kind of conspiracy Sprint has to use my day time minutes LOL!!!

Number   May be using this # to scam people!!  Dont give him any money or do any transactions

Finally got it figured it out, whenever some1 calls
You *67 or from a private number, whether its a collection agency,
A crazy person, a scam, etc... anytime the # is blocked, to call
You, it will come up as these odd numbers.  I have
iphone 4s sprint.  I just dialed my cell phone
number *67, using my land line & it did it!!  Try dialing ur
Number using *67 before the area code & u will see.
