I received the same call claiming the same information.  I called back four times.  Each time East Indian sounding voices, with all American names.  Claimed they were in Washington DC... Idaho area code.  They hanged up each time if I asked any questions at all.

The call is fraudulent.  We suspect they're getting contact info from iRS filed tax liens which are public record.  The callers are generally foreign and if you stay on the phone long enough they will instruct you to get a money card to pay them with.  Some cases have reported that these callers will call and report a crime in your area before they call you in order to claim that the police car you see on your street is coming after you.   IRS DOES NOT ask for money by phone nor do they call you to tell you you're being sued. IRS sends a letter or agents to your home.  These calls seem to go in spurts every few months. Hang up, block the caller.

Called Oregon at 5:43 am  Msg said going to file suit if I didn't call back immediately. Yes - Saturday. From Idaho. This is apx. 6th call of this nature I've received. Previous from different numbers. Called Sheriff before as last call said on the way with warrant and taking my driver's licence and locking up all my accounts. A number of people in my County had received same calls. They wanted money.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

Scam using IRS terrorism tactics. I don't answer out of area calls anymore. My call blocker is full. just sick of this sort of robocalling.  This one is going to the FCC hot line.
Filing a complaint. You have multiple options for filing a complaint with the FCC: File a complaint online. By phone: 1-888-CALL-FCC (1-888-225-5322); TTY: 1-888-TELL-FCC (1-888-835-5322); ASL: 1-844-432-2275

I didn't answer because I didn't recognize the number it came up spaced out on my ID like 20 84 161532. The message is an automated message that says (exactly), "IRS. Internal Revenue Services. The reason of this call is to inform you that the IRS is filing lawsuit against you. To get more information about this case file, please call immediately on our department number 208-416-1532. I repeat 208-416-1532. Thank you."

I too have received these calls (Oregon).....I called my phone company and had them blocked.  I am on call and when I get one of these irs gonna sue me calls 6:00am and I'm thinking its an emergency it really starts the day off bad.  With all the tech gadgets out there it really makes me want to buy an app that can block these right from my phone.

I didn't answer because I did not recognize the number.  They have called twice today, both automated calls saying something about my case file, and to call 208-416-1532 for more information.  Sounded fishy so I am not answering anymore.  On an iPhone, you can block calls for certain numbers by clicking the circled i to the right of the number in the voice mail, then scroll down to the bottom and click block this caller.

3 IRS calls just today saying they were suing me and to call this # I called the local Sheriff, they said they are getting many, many calls on the same scam, and to be sure no personal info is given to them. ( I knew that much)

We started getting these calls yesterday and today called at 7:00 AM, says they are from the IRS and we are being sued. Started my day off badly since we are retired and don't have to get up. I worked for the federal government and know that the IRS doesn't call anyone. It's a scam so I don't answer.
