- ragramAm I the first one to get a robo call from this number? From Detroit Lake, MN? I see no reason for anyone from this number to be calling me and since they didn't bother to leave a message I can completely ignore the call. I haven't answered my phone for almost a year now. Turned off the ringers. And I haven't missed one important call. Use my cell for family and close friends and so far haven't had many unknown calls on the cell.

- Madeline| 2 repliesCaller wanted to tell me he has Microsoft services to fix my computer. When I told him my son takes care of that, he used bad language. He called me a [***] sucker and said he'd pay a dollar to me to suck his [***]. I told him that was very bad language if he was trying to make a sale. I also let my husband listen. We think this guy should lose his job.

- Alan| 3 repliesAt least this one was worth a laugh. After I said hello and there was a pause, some obviously Indian or [***] guy with a thick accent said, "Hello, this is Peter Williams from the Microsoft Windows Center and..." I interrupted and said, "LOL, your name is not Peter Williams, what is it really?" and he hung up. Who ARE these clowns?

- Jiri replies to Madeline| 1 replyMadeline, I also received a call from this number (reading "Detroit Lake, MN" on caller ID) but did not pick it up. In the past I have received the "Microsoft Support" obviously phony phone call from other phone numbers, and did a little research on it. This is a scam to scare you and urge you to allow them to gain access to your computer, so they can create problems on it that they want to charge $ (i.e., a ransom) before they fix it. So understand that this bad language fellow was not trying to make a legitimate sale, and he will not lose his job because he is not operating on behalf of a legitimate business. These are the worst of the worst.

- Tele-ticideThis is just one of the numbers being used by these East Indian scammers. After they gain access to your computer, they install malicious software which will harvest your bank and personal identity information, then lock you out until you pay their fees (ransom) -- and even if you do pay, they use and/or sell your info.
Obviously, the CID name/number is fudged.- Caller: Detroit Lake MN
- Tele-ticideAnd the Indian morons didn't even spell the name right :-)
There is no such place as Detroit Lake in MN. They are proud of the name, which is taken from a group of lakes and is plural, ie., Detroit Lakes, MN.
Criminal masterminds with the brains of an insect!- Caller: Detroit Lake MN
- Tamianth replies to JiriMost of these calls are coming from India and Pakistan.

I told him my name was Steve Wozniack and my phone was hooked up to my computer and I was about to test my new invention on him by pressing a key and sending a lightning bolt through the airwaves to come out of his phone and punch him in the head. He hung up
- AnoidIn a thick accent, a man asked for me by my name. I asked him to I D himself. Said his name was Frank and he wanted to help me with my Windows computer. I laughed and put the phone next to my talk radio station.

I am in Connecticut and just got a call from this number. I do not answer if I do not recognize the caller-ID, then if they do not leave a message I assume they are a telemarketer and I block the number. So this number has been added to my blocked call list.
My phone number has been on the National Do Not Call Registry since August 2003 so if they are telemarketers, they are violating the law.
To block calls like this (on my land line) I got a Panasonic KX-TGE245B that allows me to block up to 250 numbers and/or area-codes. Panasonic has several new 2014 models that will block that many numbers. You simply save the CID to the blocked list. You can also block area codes by adding them to what they call a “Range List” (you are blocking the range of numbers starting with that area code).
There are several types of call blockers & call blocking phones. I suggest you get one so at least you only need to deal with any caller once. - pat scozzarogot a call at 730 am

- JayIt's an Indian guy trying to install malware on our PC's. I kept him on the line making him think I was obeying his commands for 38 minutes. He called me some really bad names and said one of his friends were coming from ISIS to kill me in an hour. They are so silly.
