Some guy named David (with a strong middle eastern accent) called me a few times this morning saying I'm being sued over a $2000 loan (that I never applied for). LOL! Okay... So here's the deal. The first time I ALMOST fell for this [***] was some few months ago. It's crazy how they scoop up info on you to scare the crap out of you but honestly DON'T FALL FOR IT. Especially if they tell you to pay off this 'loan' by wiring the money to some Western Union account. [***] that! If they were who they say they are then this wouldn't be paid off through Western Union. If they'd like to take me up on it, go ahead. I can pull my bank account statements from way back when. Low lifes.

    what a joke
Yes I just got a call also from this number I couldn't even understand what her name was because of her heavyeastern accent. Same thing saying I owe money for a loan that I defaulted on which is not true at all. First of all couldn't tell me the date when I got this loan. One would think if I owed this money they would have this information. So its a scam do not fall for it.

Thanks for the info.  I received 2 calls yesterday and one today from a Mike Smith.  First of all, I have never heard a man with a deep Middle Eastern accent named Mike Smith in my life.  They really are low.

This sounds like extortion dressed as debt collection. The agents' horrid threats are empty and their conduct is illegal. As early as possible it's critical to determine if your collector is domestic or yet another South Asian faker. The former you can sue into submission; the latter tend to be out of reach.

My notes from October 2011 on payday loan and "hot check" collectors are linked below.

They called my phone multiple times leaving messages. If you want them to stop calling just do what i did. Tell them you have a very good friend who works for interpool investigating international fraud and if they call you again, you will let your friend know.

Okay so I got a call this morning from Jenny( INDIAN accent) who said she was calling me from Huston Law  Firm.. I asked her what this is in regards to and she said my loans.... and then the line went dead.  She called me right back, and left me a nasty message saying it was in regards to my "pay day loans" and that if I or my lawyer did not call back in 24 hours charges in my state would be pressed..

Well they have done it to me now, last week it was my husband and now me.
First there was a woman on the line with a very heavy Indian (India) accent saying I was being sued by Cash Advance America, then put on hold where a man with heavy indian( India) calling himself Alex Williams got on the line and as soon as I said there was no such account, he hung up.
